Not a fan of bundling?
Hardly a bundle when everything is RRP and you're not saving a single cent by doing it is it? The only reason they are doing it is because they know that stock will sell immediately so adding items that wouldn't sell immediately to a 'bundle' makes for an easy sale and bumps up their sales.
Smart but not really customer friendly since the average person would just want the console and maybe an extra controller.
Well they sold out, in this instance there are enough outliers who don't mind the other bundled accessories. Also the accessories they bundled are just about essential in a gaming setup anyway, better than scalpers prices.
@eggaz: They will keep selling out while there is no stock on shelves and they know that. Hell they could probably add a 'new release' game at the $109 they tried selling for at launch to the bundle because people just jump on what comes up since they sell out straight away. Sure, might be better than scalpers but honestly not by much.
@eggaz: I bet the kid loves rhese bundles cause it gets the parent buying stuff for them they otherwise might not have gotten for a long time.

Cheaper to buy the PS5 at RRP and the accessories on sale though. I paid $39 for the charger and only around $80 for the second dualsense so that's $869 total. This is a full RRP bundle which is a laugh.

Doesn't hurt to pay the little bit extra to get a little bit extra and guarantee yourself the console.

The PS5 Stock Alerts twitter account (@AustraliaPs5) is the reason these deals are almost always sold out before they're posted. Usually these OzB posts are hastily posted after an "In Stock" tweet goes out.
I had friends looking for a console for ages and they managed to get one from EB in the recent drop by following that account. If you're looking for a PS5 following that twitter account gives you a much better chance.

Very disappointing they are still doing a bundle with no discount at all. Poor form. Had a bad experience with them recently too. Was after a game in particular and added a few extras to make their inflated shipping not seem as bad. They shipped my order and emailed that the item that I actually wanted was not in stock and refunded the amount. They did not however refund any of the extra shipping (it was the largest item). I was annoyed but copped it. Checked their site 4 days later and the item was back in stock. Logged a query and they said they could do the order again with free shipping though never offered the initial discount. Cost me $10 or so extra than it should have and the box even came damaged (as in it has been packed damaged as the external packaging was fine).
Their service has gone downhill the last few years. Seems to me they're all about quick turn arounds and selling in volume online now days. I used to go into their store but not any more after a bad experience.

It’s not a bad move short term financially, they have people who want the product by the balls, just depends on how it all fares with people’s memory / ability to hold a grudge when the tables are turned
I guess they figure gouging the market while they can is a viable business model and that people are weak minded (not saying they’re wrong on that point)
People remember and vote with their wallets later.
Gamesmen used to be differentiated by their customer service, the feeling they were the little guy here for real gamers. Now they are as faceless and crap as the rest of the retailers.
The fake bundle buys and listing at very unfriendly WA times is enough for me to boycott them.
Counter-perspective: They're struggling in a market with very thin margins and increasingly larger competition (e.g. Amazon) so have to change their business focus to survive, else risk disappearing as others have.
Maybe. Never actually ordered from them before. But I don't see the hate for putting together a console bundle that isn't over RRP. It's fair enough.
Can I please ask why people write disc with a K? It's compact disc, Blu-ray disc, not disk. I always thought disk was used only in hard disk related terms.
Anyway, waiting for someone to correct me or say toma-toh tomaa-tow.
