  • With a free side of 'rona from the quarantine floors!

Hi there. None of our Fiji or Samoa hotels are running quarantine programs. The hotels operating in the region go through superior cleaning standards. You can review the steps we are taking to provide you with a safe and enjoyable stay here: https://clean.marriott.com/

      • None of our Fiji or Samoa hotels are running quarantine programs

There's also travel bans preventing people from leaving the country and 2 weeks quarantine, if they manage to get an exit permit.

I'm pretty sure you're NSW and QLD properties are part of the quarantine program.

Hi there. Hotels currently in the quarantine programs aren't available for booking until they exit the scheme. The offer stay period is until the end of the year (blackout dates apply), so if additional travel bubbles open to other Pacific Islands countries, the offer is still valid. We have availability in Fiji from Oct 2021 and you can cancel your reservation with no charge up to 3 days before check-in.

Checked one hotel for an upcoming trip $241 prepay ,$263 on flexible rate or $324 with my "free" breakfast and $20 hotel credit .

Hi deb3103. Prepay should only be available at resorts. However, it doesn't include double Marriott Bonvoy points per stay.

  • +1

Like deb3103, I'm seeing a similar lack of bargain here.

As we don't have examples of where this will provide a benefit, I've picked some locations and dates at random.

    Westin Melbourne, 20 - 21 May (1 night), 1 room, 2 people

Westin Standard (38 sq m), Guest room, 1 King

    Member Rate Promotion $311
    Flexible Rate $345
Member rate promotion with breakfast $347 Breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children under 12 daily
Earn Eat Enjoy $395 $25 voucher and breakfast for 2 guests (different to what is mentioned here)

You're paying $48 extra for 'double points' and $25 you must use in the hotel, and potentially missing out on breakfast for two kids under 12. This isn't a deal to me - it's a way of paying for points and I wouldn't call it a bargain.

    W Melbourne, 24 - 25 May (1 night), 1 room, 2 people

Fabulous (42sqm), Guest room, 2 Double, City view

    Member Rate Promotion $371
    Flexible Rate $379
Earn Eat Enjoy $459 $50 voucher and breakfast for 2 guests daily at $35 credit per person

You're paying $88 extra for 'double points', $50 hotel credit and $70 for breakfast for 2 guests ($120 in hotel credit all up). This could work out if you're interested in having breakfast and another $50 spend at the hotel each day.

    Pier One Sydney Harbour, 9 - 10 June (1 night), 1 room, 2 people

    Heritage, Guest room, 1 King

    Rate Price Comments
    Member Rate Prepay Non-refundable $315
Member Rate Promotion $341 $26 more for refundable rate
    Flexible $379
Earn Eat Enjoy $469 $50 voucher and breakfast for 2 guests daily

You're paying $154 extra, over the pre-pay non-refundable rate, for 'double points', $50 hotel credit, breakfast for 2 and a refundable rate. Buffet breakfast is $42 per person according to the website. So, if you're willing to pay for that buffet breakfast, it's costing $70 for the other inclusions.

I'm sorry, I'm just not seeing a bargain here. Free breakfast and double points would have made it an interesting offer - but prepaying in advance and effectively having to use hotel restaurants for two meals a day to try and break even doesn't seem like a deal. Also, if you're chasing points you're likely to also have status - which includes discounts on hotel food and drink, and potentially free breakfast - which makes this even less of a deal.
