Wanted to get one when they were first released but after doing some research it's pretty much only good for tracking runs, and the app isn't very good either. No idea if those issues have been fixed since though. Ended up getting a Garmin Instinct Solar instead. At 50% off I'm very tempted as I love G Shocks.

  • Kinda got me interested, but might still look to get a Amazfit T-Rex Pro.

    Just got one! Thanks.

    gshock is so 2000's

  • Perhaps aggressively discounted to make way for the incoming GBA-900? https://www.casio-intl.com/asia/en/wat/watch_detail/GBA-900-…

    • +3

The GBA-900 is not the successor for the GBD-H1000 and lacks almost all of its features; the GBA-900 is just a regular, non-smart G-Shock with a smartphone link feature that allows it to measure distances for runs using a paired smartphone's GPS functionality. It doesn't have any sensors nor built-in GPS functionality.

The GBD-H1000 has the full sensor suite (Altimeter, Barometer, Compass, Thermometer, Heart Rate Monitor, Accelerometer, Step Counter, GPS), can charge via solar power or USB charging, plus it features a much high-quality, full-screen LCD dot matrix display and a plethora of exercise/fitness tracking-related features (e.g. VO2 max measurement, calories, routes/times/statistics log data, training analysis data, etc).

The baby brother of the GBD-H1000 is the GBD-100.

  • Cheap for a GPS watch.

Considering these normally retail for around $500-600 dollars AUD; this is a damn good price for G-Shock's flagship fitness/exercise smartwatch.

    • I'm always a Protrek user because of all the sensors. Has been looking at Protrek smart watches but none came close to this G-Squad model especially with the solar charging. Plus I don't believe the price will go any lower in these couple these of years.

This is my first G-Shock watch and yes @alwayspoor, it's so 2000's but we are still in this millennium 😊

  • Not available for delivery and only click and collect? Not stock in any store also for the GBDH1000.

    • Possibly sold out. This morning there were 15 black model in stock for delivery.

      • Bummer, missed out :(

  • OOS :(

  • I received mine used with scratches, sweat and skin grime. The sticker on the box saying it was sold on the 14/01/2021 by a Rebel team member. So gross and disappointing.
