You can achieve the same thing with a bowl in a saucepan.
Or just use some water/vinegar and slowly pour the egg from a bowl instead of cracking it in directly.

Sort of thing always available for $1 in those cheap import shops so 75 cents can't see that much of a saving..FOR 2!
If there isn't two in a pack at those shops, it's definitely worth the $1.50 in time and effort to drive or catch public transport to source a product to make your eggs stick.

i use this as a cup
Easy poaching without any gadgets: Take a glass cup with some water, pour egg inside and quick microwave ~30 sec. Place a lid on top to avoid egg white splattering if you want to set timer longer.
