These are good for storing SSDs/MicroSDs in a fire resistant safe. It keeps the inside nice and cool while your house is crumbling around you.

They're also handy for storing emergency lithium-ion battery-powered equipment in your car, e.g. a torch, 2-way radio, satellite phone, spare mobile, etc. Heat degrades lithium-ion batteries.

  • Does anybody know if these are being cleared or something? This particular range of Sistema bottles have gone on sale for 50% off quite a bit over the past few months.

Sistema products go half price regularly at woolies for years now. I think I saw someone on OzBargain mention some kind of financial incentive for them from the New Zealand gov?

  • They look better than this. I might get one.

Wide rim so some people might find it hard to drink out of it

  • I bought a single walled 1L stainless steel bottle and its the right size. I love it. Water is cool. I couldn’t imagine carrying a 1L double walled one around.

  • Doesnt keep warm for 6hrs , I made tea for a road trip and it was lukewarm for our first stop 2hrs in . Bought it for son
originally but he didnt like it as opening to big for drinking straight out of .

Did u pre-heat it with hot water first?

I have a couple of these & they are awesome, filled with chilled water in the morning for work & it's still cool in the arvo..

      • yeah , swirled around with the hot water first before I poured in the made tea , perhaps will have to have it sit there for a few mins next time.

  • Damn it can never find 700ml always 350,500 or 1l

Didn't have good experience with these. Bought 3 last time, 2 wouldn't maintain cold temperatures for even 2 hours and 1 needed a refund outright. Got a replacement and it was the same story. YMMV but I would stick to Zojirushi if you want consistent temps.

    • Where can you find Zojirushi bottles in Sydney?

      • i dont know of any physical stores but try amazon, they usually have stock.

    • My experience with hot tea in the 1L bottle was totally positive. Kept it burning hot for the whole day.

These are also good at warding off muggers

  • They should design it so both ends can be unscrewed. Its so damn hard to clean the bottom of it.

    • put some clean sand with water in it, then shake the crap out of it, then rinse out the sand. Gets rid of the residue inside.

Pour some white vinegar, shake the bottle, let rest for 8-10 minutes
Add some baking power. Again shake the bottle.
      You have a new bottle

    • I recently read about this cleaning hack: add some uncooked rice with water & dishwashing liquid in the bottle, close lid & shake! It actually works.

You can use a bottle brush like this. There's a spongier version too, and a fancier Kitchenaid one.

  • is this made in New Zealand?

    • Made in china, unlike most of their other products that are made in NZ.

  • If ordering online, be aware they may send a pink coloured bottle. It was easy enough to swap it over in-store though.
