I placed a pre-order for a PS5 at Harvey Norman* on 17th Jan and still haven't received it. I call every few weeks and Harvey Norman say "dunno, soz, lol".
I've seen 2 posts (21/01/2021 and 02/03/2021) for PS5 disc version pre-orders at Harvey Norman after I pre-ordered, has anyone received theirs from those?
Should I expect to have received mine by now?
*long story. tl;dr had store credit and nothing else of interest at a reasonable price at HN.
Blame it on the chip shortage
I totally get that the chip shortage will impact supply levels.
But I'd be a little pissy if subsequent pre orders with the same retailer were fulfilled before mine
Entirely depends on how much and when HN get stock allocated to them. EBGames, for all their faults and stupid pricing, do seem to get the lion's share of PS5 stock. It's just a waiting game unfortunately for most of the world.
I have a friend who preordered from EB on the day preorders were announced, about 5hrs after I did (I got one launch day). And only today did he finally get confirmation that he will be getting one next week. So EB have definitely had their issues.
I have been telling him to cancel and go with someone else as this is ridiculous, but at least he finally will be getting it.
Guess it depends on individual cases. I fully checked out 8 mins after EB pre-order went live and got it on launch day 12th Nov too.
Yeah, literally pre-ordered upon the end of the live stream and received mine Day One, as well as two other mates of mine that completed pre-orders within minutes after me.
Preordered JB Frankston 20th March, got one today.

I have heard this same thing with people waiting months for preorders so I didn’t want to take the same risk so I just followed the PS5 Australia bots on Twitter and turned on notifications for the page and I managed to get a PS5 from Amazon as the Twitter pages post instantly once a store has online stock.
Sony have already hinted at a re-design with new chip in 2022

Just for those wondering about ps5's still EB has started to get store stock in today local store in Pakenham, Victoria got 16 in today and they already have less than 10 after a few hours so if your looking for one maybe give your local eb or jb a call and just check as I've heard they will be going back to pre orders after this lot so might not come in again for a few months
PS5 stopping production stopping? Sony likes money….

I went to EB games today and they said they're taking pre-orders for shipment in mid June…not sure why yours is taking so long
Went on a waiting list at EB Games on 11 May and got a call yesterday saying it was in.
They received stock on Friday and I'd made it to the top of the list.
Phew, only 4ish months to get one.
Some of these 'waiting lists' are getting out of control… Video cards, game consoles etc…
I wouldn't wait that long..
