Got alerted for the price drop, not sure if it makes sense
Seller seems to be not local, shipping is free though.
From website:

Anyone used this 3rd party seller before?
I'd be hesitant to order this. The price is approaching the shucked costed of drives and the drive would come from overseas.
Better off waiting for an amazon uk/us deal imo.

tip the scale for you?
you can say good bye to cheap Amazon HDD for awhile now
according to Kogan the seller is also fishpond… not sure if its safe to order tho
yeah, they're the same seller, order via fishpond, you can pay with Paypal and choose pay after 21 days if your account is eligible, so pretty much no loss if things don't work out
@ln28909: so is fishpond pretty much like ebay/kogan-marketplace? a platform for individual sellers who may or may not be legit?
Also, paying with Paypal adds $0.49 fee. Where do you see the 21 days thing?
@xrailgun: Fishpond is like Amazon, it is a marketplace but they also sell goods themselves, this particular listing is sold by them
For pay after delivery with PayPal, refer here
@ln28909: Thanks! looks like this is exactly the situation that justifies that 21 day program (and the $0.49 fee) lol
@ln28909: they cancelled it, price error :(
@beeepbooop: Got some voucher though so I guess it's not too bad
This is very cheap. A bargain if you will.
That costs $191 via fishpond instead of $204, though.
They're around A$300-330 normal price from a local Umart or similar. And around $250 with 20% off deals or similar.
In fact this particular model seems an old version. Much cheaper above.
I like how at no point did the seller mention the actual model number. No thanks.
Good deal if legitimate, probably not though.
Kogan link borked now too. Just takes you to a search/category page.
I need another one like next week but I'm not willing to risk this (Fishpond). It's too cheap, it's grey import, no model number, the 'same' product with a model number is in another link also on Fishpond for $530. Lots of things screaming at me here.
Link is busted - Kogan are onto OZB
I ordered one, but I'm a bit concerned now! What could be illegitimate about it? (genuine question)
I was intending to put this in my DS119j Synology NAS, which is my only 3.5" drive at home (I only have laptops). Does anyone know if there a tool on Synology to check the drive somehow for being counterfeit or damaged once (if) I receive it? Any other suggestions for how I might check the drive with just laptops in the house are also welcome if there's no tools available with a Synology NAS.
Thanks!
Replying to myself in case anyone has similar queries:
"Ironwolf Health Management" appears to be enabled on Synology NAS' from DSM 6.1 onwards.
I bought 15, apparently not going to arrive till mid-to-late June.
Is this for mining
For my Chia farm.
My order was cancelled by fishpond, with a $50 voucher granted for my next order.
Same
How reliable are these third party sellers on Kogan?
