    good psu

    • +10

Could you take another one for the team and buy a 3080?

      • +1

already have one ;) I'm sure the bargains will be coming now!

  • +1

Over-rated PSUs are great esp. when they're a good deal like this. Long Live silent PCs!

  • +1

Evening punters. Just eating my dinner. Hit me hard and fast with some humorous shoppingexpressregret comments.
    It's been a long day.

Am i blind, or is this website one of those horrible stores that dont give you a postage estimate until you provide them with all your details?

    • +1

      Yes.

    • +8

      flat rate $9.90 shipping nationwide

      • Oh wow that's good. Thanks mate

  • +4

Feel like PSU’s are the only part prices which haven’t been jacked

    • +6

shhhhh! Don't give them any ideas!

    • There's more PSUs than Parts to connect to them 👀

      • You're not being creative enough.

        • Ah heck, my bad. Alright alright , how about

Most of the torture dungeons have moved to purchasing Electric Vehicles and use their batteries and charging stations instead of the typical consumer grade PSUs, hence the overstock :(( they're desperate.

@The Milk Man: you need to hit the underground stuff. Off the map. Like that place we caught up pre covid. I'll PM you through the deets again.

    • +2

only if we can do crypto with PSU!

    • They were jacked af last year, just like RAM the year before.

  • Just bought this one so when I get around to it I will be able to run a 30-series GPU. Seems perfectly solid this PSU, any reasons to stay away? Can't find much negative about it.

    • +1

I'm running 2 3070's off this on a Folding@Home Rig so I don't think so tbh. Not an expert though, but personally I've had a really good experience with this PSU.

god if its not the scalpers and miners, its those damn Folders
        /s

        • +2

Yeah, we need more hardware to use for Minecraft! Who cares about lowly scientists racing against time to make Covid vaccines against the new virus varients /s

  • Any advantage in upgrading power supply over old one used for over 5 years?

    • Nah. As long as it's a brand name and still works.

Only great PSU feature is a fan that only operates under heavy loads to keep it quiet.

    • Potential to slot in a shiny invisible 30-series GPU if you don't already have a high wattage quality PSU already.
Otherwise its best to go off your power supply warranty, if it only had a 3 year warranty I'd be looking for a new one after 5 years. If its a 10 year warranty unit its expected to last at that at least.

    • If your old psu is not energy efficient and you use your pc a lot it might be worth it to save energy.

  • +2

Got this back in late March 2020 as a under warranty replacement for a HX650 with only a few months of its 7 year warranty period remaining. Not that I need that much power for my pc. Still a great solid PSU.

Though as mentioned in this other deal. Retailers are most likely clearing these out to make way for the new 2021 RMx models that now support "modern standby".

    • PSU that has "modern standby" sounds good, I know will have to wait until is supported by the other PC hardware.

  • +1

Apparently the new cryptocurrency uses PSU mining - better buy quick before they skyrocket

    • +1

Great! so what should we call it? PSUcoin/PeeCoin?

      • +3

        PowerSupply®

uhh, how hard is it to cancel a shopping express order?

    • Impossible, they ship next day morning so even if you send an email telling them to cancel, they wouldn't read it in time

      • Nah I managed to easily cancel an order for a kit of RAM last year. They can be really slow to ship things out in my experience (multiple days with my last order).

        • I never have success, they always ship next day morning for me

  • +1

    PSUs are the new Eneloops.

  • +1

Think I keep my ax860 for a few more years, going strong since 2012 or something.

  • +1

    Omg, just bought a RM750x for $150

    • Can't return or cancel?

      • I guess I could. It was the ebay Harris Tech deal. I assume a lot on OzB are on the same boat

        • feeBay Plus? The return process is fairly easy.

  • Thanks OP! picked one up after i hesitated with the centrecom deal last week.

Wondering if anyone can confirm this is the V2 version? from the spec sheet it looks like it, comparing the dimensions. V2 = 160mm V1 = 180mm

    • It'd have to be pre-2018 stock to be V1 so highly unlikely.

  • Nice to see good quality PSU mega sale going on! Now lets hope next in line will be a GPU mega sale…

    • only once supply surpasses demands…

  • you can always have one of these on stand by at this price.

    • Is this the modern standby they are referring to?

      • +1

        No.

RM850x (2018) - no modern standby, but better components (in general) than RM850.
RM850 - has modern standby and in some aspects perform well. The main area of difference is the ripple level and slight cost saving on components.
RM850x (2021) - improved version of RM850x (2018), added modern standby, improved the already good fan further, it is the version to get, but how much will it cost?

RM850x (2018) is likely discounted as the 2021 version is coming. Will 2021 version be selling at $199?

  • Wonder if it's worth upgrading from my Corsair Enthusiast Series 850-Watt 80 Plus Bronze
Psu I bought over 10 years ago

    • Definitely worth after 10 years, especially at this price for this particular PSU.

  • +1

Price is showing as $179 ?

  • Just installed mine and working great with a 5900X and 6700 XT. Only complaint is the cables are complete trash. You can't bend them at the ends and they have huge bits of tape around the capacitors at the end of the 24 pin, CPU and PCI-E cables. Makes it a huge pain to route them properly.

  • I want this, anyone able to find a similar deal anywhere else?
