Carl's Jr is not a burger clone, timeline: 1940 McDonald's, 1941 Carl’s Jr. then way later, 1953 Burger King (our HJ’s).
Carl's Jr burgers are 'chargrilled', unlike HJ's 'flamegrilled'.
The burgers are BETTER at Carl's. Try the Angus burger range and taste for yourself.

      I haven't tried them, but I have to say I appreciate Carl's Jr don't even pretend they're chicken pieces. They are stars, after all.

    lol the "Big Carl", in my opinion the meat at Carl's Jr. is abysmal at best, and i'm not saying this just to slander them because i work at Hungry Jack's

      Hungry Jacks is the worse. Patty taste like cardboard, flame grilled my ass more like microwave reheated. The food is presented with no care, just slopped together.

    Not sure if they still have it but they were doing a $5.99 double burger deals last week. This included BLT, Guacamole and Jalapeño. The BLT is really good.

      It tastes like hungry jacks but from the one you always avoid going to. Was honestly shocked at how bad it is for the price. Ate at Docklands.

    I've had Carl's Jr once in Bateau Bay and it's in same class of food as Hungry Jacks. Nothing special to be honest

    Honestly the fact that I can always rely on MSJB to post Carl's Jr deals on ozbargain as a consistent force in the universe gives me peace. I don't ever intend to eat there and the food sounds like it's kind of bad, but this is the kind of content I rely on to keep me centered in the world. Thank you

    Carls you can do free drink refills, so gran a burger, small drink and keep filling up drinks, with HJ need to but the drink size up front …..

    There have been times with HJ when I bought the 2x burger deals BUT to buy enough drink to wash it down has been expensive, at CArls buy 2 x burgers , 1 small drink and just refill until thirst is quenched.

    The California Classic is pretty good. It's an In N Out knock off but honestly a good one especially for $4. The angus ones aren't great and not worth the price.
