what the nicest in terms of material case? antec? I had a coolermaster and it was all plastic.. ewh

    • -2

my antec p183 , super solid case works perfect literally for 10 years

    • well, yea, coolermaster is cheap for a reason.

if you buy a cheap case you will have a cheap case. it's kinda obivous he he

    • nicest in terms of material? The premium cases from be quiet, Lian Li, Corsair, Phanteks, Fractal and NZXT will probably fit that criteria

  • +3

    Quality case, do recommend

  • +2

I have this case - recommend

  • Good deal. I was keen on this case in black a few weeks ago for mATX build but went for Thermaltake Core V21- both were $89 at the time - no regrets., the cube is more flexible and works better for me.

Why does it have a window on the side?

    • +2

Thus is a relic of Pentium days… Back then, we'd need to open the window to cool the chip down.

    • Modern providers of main boards processors memory and accessories offer large varieties of rainbow and disco lighting systems to create ambience in the case

The window is to make it visible

      • The stuff of nightmares! I'm still rocking that solid panel with GPU side fan look :)

    • +2

it's a requirement to install windows

  • Looks like it may suffer from Airflow issues?

    • -1

I’m starting to think so. I have this case and installed 6 case fans (3x at front blowing air into case, 2x at top and 1x at back drawing air out of case). The back plate of my 3090 gets super hot when gaming and the inside of case is hot af. Am I doing something wrong?

      • +5

Using a 3090 inside a cheap case is probably wrong right :)

        • Is the s100 really considered a cheap quality case? It’s cheap in what way?

I actually started with the 1660 super, then the 3070 and then upgraded to a 3090.

          • @Ebaygiftcards: I am not an expert but does not sound like it is considered anywhere as near as premium as the graphics card X)

            • @lukethefish: My question started off regarding air flow with the s100. Of course a $3500 card is more premium than this case so no need to point out the obvious. However there are some expensive premium cases out there that have shit airflow too.

              • @Ebaygiftcards: It's matx for starters and it has piddly front air intake. It's a low end case for mid to low heat parts.

Even the nr200 which everyone raves about isn't great for hit components.

                • @initiateit: Thanks for your reply. Yeah I heard bad things about the NR200. Which atx case would you recommend?

                  • @Ebaygiftcards: Nzxt 200i, Corsair iCue 5000X or the Fractal Define R5 are all great. Can't lose even if they are a bit pricey.

Matx my bet is the inwin 301 which I am building now with an 11600k.

Mitx everyone always says the nr200 but I don't mind the Thermal take Core V1.

      • Similar fan setup here and GPU & inside also hot, but I am running positive pressure. I find the mesh really restricts airflow exiting the top of the case. Maybe you should specifically try a negative pressure setup?

        • Yeah I find the same with the top mesh so I remove it when gaming. I’ll give the negative pressure a try.

I also tried undervolting my gpu this weekend and managed to get it running around 60-65c when gaming.
