This Whoop ads keep popping up on my newsfeeds. Does anyone have one and what are your thoughts? Will be wearing it to while playing basketball. Are they durable? Are the subscription fees worth it? Thanks

social media lemmings.
Scrolled all the way down to the end, as it was a TLDR review.
So, unfortunately, at this point, despite really liking the promise of the platform and the app itself, I just can’t justify spending $30/month anymore for a service whose foundations are based on inaccurate data, has no knowledge of my training goals, and doesn’t provide me with guidance other than telling me to sleep 11 hours a night…every night.
And to repeat:

🤣 need to generate some traffic on this tumbleweed post.
I think OP will still give it a shot as the use case is basketball.
btw, pam is back with a sensational deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/620451 :D
It sounds as though they are using a subscription service to learn about HRM and then might apply some smarts to give you training plans. Ie it really is a beta test for the product.
I wear an Apple Watch all the time and love the fitness tracking … but can't wear it when playing actual basketball games… is there a good value product that I can wear for competitive sports?
Was also thinking a wrist band that covers the Apple Watch could work, maybe if it had some kind of recess to fit into it, but really that isn't allowed.
Are you allowed to wear a HR monitor on your upper arm? e.g Polar OH1 Plus or Verity Sense can record HR internally as well as transmit to a mobile on the side off the court.

https://www.polar.com/au-en/products/accessories/polar-verit…1) Rotate the Apple Watch so it's on your inner wrist instead to reduce screen exposure.

2) Get a bumper case protector for it when playing and remove afterwards.

You don't need a whole new device and can continue with your health tracking data.
The problem is you are not allowed to wear a watch while playing due to risk of injury to yourself or others.
You can wear a chest strap heart rate monitor instead.
If you just put a sweatband over it, would that do the job?
You'd have to bonkers to pay for a subscription health service
Why? Not that I subscribe to any, but can’t really see why they are universally bad.
Because you can get it free just buying the band.
This
But Joe Rogan used it! He's basically a doctor.
Sounds about right for a gimmicky product marketed to social media lemmings.
