As far as I've seen it, this is a great price for one of the most user friendly garden tools out there.
I own a couple of the Fiskars range and they are all light and the mechanism they use makes it really quite easy to cut branches compared with any other loppers I've owned.

To get an idea of how the increased leverage works a.k.a. PowerStep see here:

This model is an anvil lopper, suited for hard or dry wood (Fiskars website)

Hopefully this is useful for any other gardeners out there.
I can't find it anywhere near this price elsewhere.

Edit: I should also add that these come with a 25 year warranty

Fiskars is a great brand, I have a few of their products and have been very happy with them given the amount of abuse I've inflicted on them.
This is an awesome price too!

    • Fiskas also owns Gerber I believe.

      • I've suspected that for a while now so I think you're right there. Among other things, the hatches and axes are almost identical.

I agree. I've got a Fiskars weed removing device and it works a treat. No longer do you need to get down on all 4's to remove weeds.

  • Great gift didnt even have to leave my chair

    Thanks OP great find.

I have a pair of their bypass secateurs for a number of years now, never happy with it (easily jammed, lock drops on, blade edge not great). My old Gardena was much better, thinking of upgrading to Felco. That said, I believe these loppers are good, never used before but have extensively used the Fiskars telescopic pole lopper & it's great.

  • Save $30% ???

Either way, it seems like a good price

  • Awesome deal, it cuts through branches quite easily once it is cranked to third gear.

"Men might wanna keep it away from their partners cause accident do happen" o.O

    • likewise

  • Price match it at Bunnings :)

    • did they offer you a further 10% off

      • +2

I work at bunnings, and they would :) If its the exact same product, they have to price match internet deals too

        • That's really good to know, thanks. Is that Australian sites only?

        • +1

I think it is all sites across the board- but the postage has to be included in the price match. We got an email about it the other day from top management.

  • I really really want to get one… but I only have 1, fairly large tree on my property…
Dont know if I would ever use it..

Lol i thought this was a hair straightner

  • Ordered 1, thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP. I selected leave at side gate, does anyone know if the driver will actually do this?

  • +1

Thanks for the heads up on this one, My Uncle will be glad when it arrives and I give his 'borrowed' one back.

  • "Currently unavailable online and in store."

  • "for hard or dry wood"
??? But wouldn't you use it to cut branches on trees that are green and not dry? Or is it supposed to be used for dead wood?

    • You might want to lop dead branches on live trees so they don't snap off in the breeze & drop on your head when you least expect it.

At this price I'm almost buying it even though I don't have a garden. Might have one one day though :p

    • If you ever decide to join the Yakuza then this would also help with lopping off the fingers of incompetent underlings! ;)

      • +1

Wrong model Dude. Apparently you want the "bypass lopper with hook head is suitable for heavy cutting of fresh" fingers.

  • Ordered one but have no reply yet from Big W and Paypal was not debited. Ordered when they were still in stock. Should I expect the worst?

    • Yes, you should. Same happened to me. I tried it 4 times, and not once did Big W take the money. I contacted them, they rang back and said "the paypal method doesn't work sometimes. Just keep trying until it does."

By the time I got round to it again (as I was out at the time), the deal had expired. No Fiskars for me…. or you.

      • As luck has it I had given up on it, but lo and behold, mid morning got an email from Big W stating they shipped it today!

  • Ordered on Friday and got it today, looks like good quality, made in Finland for a change.
