Flying Power (Aldi brand energy drinks) taste identical to Red Bulls too.

Man i was so disappointed last time i bought that at a club. Not because it didn't taste like red bull, but because I still had to pay 5 bucks for it.

A club was selling aldi branded drinks lol? I tasted a Red Bull and a Flying Power side by side and couldn't tell the difference. Flying Power is made in Austria which is where Red Bull is also made I believe.

I thought red bull is made in Thailand where the founder of the company brought the product (technically, Thai people had the drink in the first place and he named it to Red Bull) to the world. He discovered the drink in Thailand after he had a bad jet lag.

Don't quote me on this but I believe Flying Power is just a rebranded Red Bull. Aldi has been known to stock Red Bull whenever their version isn't available

  • Is the current ALDI catalogue available online?

i think its mainly due to people who drink it as a drink (ie like juice or coke), when really it should only be used as a stimulant.

Also energy drinks should be consumed in moderation. There's a reason every can states 2 max per day (500ml total). Some people go nuts, like this guy:

        http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2007/08/18/1186857834956.html

He consumed 8 in 5 hours and then had a heart attack.

Also these drinks are not for children. V's 'warning label' is particularly deceptive as it makes drinking V sound like a dare.

What about those rediculous max 1.25 1.5 or 0.75 daily limits
They know bloody well people will consume the full product in the package

    • Can't believe people negged you…

Damm you for making me go to Aldi tomorrow to buy some so I can try it :)

  • $1 redbull deserves a + from me. Anytime. Anyday. Doesnt matter if i cant get it

  • if this is true, this IS A GREAT BUY !!!

for instance, most retailers/bars/petrol stations pay between $35-$44 / case (of 24 cans), so this is well below what their cost …..

PS - would love to see some verification of the deal as proof

  • good deal

I would say flying power taste abit worse than Redbull and V but still taste good. Flying power is 1/2 the price of V and Redbull so def worth the price.

    Expiry date?

  • OzBargain remorse…..
I paid $1.49 at my Aldi on Tuesday for all their stock!
Maybe I can get a refund on the unopened ones and re-buy them for $0.99!

  • In Cabramatta, they sell a box (24 cans) for $22. :)

  • I went to Aldi and the Redbull was not on special but the flying power was 0.99c can. I bought 5 to try before I got any more. IMHO it does not taste like redbull as is quite nasty. This has sugar free on the label. Not sure if there is a normal variety also. Just be aware before you go buying in bulk if you have not tried it before.
