I've had and used this kmart one for a couple of seasons, only $35.

    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/heated-throw---charcoal/293…

    • Except they’re out of stock online and also out of stock in stores at the moment :(

I went into Kmart the other night and the staff has advised the stocks are currently still in quarantine. So it would be another couple of weeks till it’s in stock again.

      • Also I believe the Kmart one only has a 12 Month warranty instead of 3 years, if that makes a difference.

Looks really similar to the ones that Aldi sells. Mine stopped heating up on one side after less than a year while the other side heats up too much lol.

  • I bought an Aldi one a couple of years back and even on the lowest heat setting its too hot for me :( I wondered about this one… but the other thing is, the small print says you cant use it folded or sitting on it or bunching it up so I dont know how they can show it all folded an wrapped. Yes, its probably soft and cuddly but it wont last long if you use it like in the ad photos.

    • it’s fine to fold if it’s switched off

  • Never know Sunbeam does blankets.

    • It's a fluff covered electrical appliance.

  • Our sunbeam throw controller failed and we called them for warrantee and they don't have replacements in stock so we've been waiting months with no result

The older style Sunbeam controllers aren't very good. Not sure about this type. The blankets are nice and thick, but only 120x160cm so a bit hard to get neck to toe coverage.

I recently got a Beurer one which has a RRP of near $150, but it was just under $100 off ebay. It's 180cm long, very plush, not as thick as the Sunbeam ones, but feels nicer. Hasn't been cold enough to have it on yet.

  • The Jason ones are $50 at Safeway.

    They're pretty good.

    • Jason's also avail at Woolies. Grabbed one two years ago at 50% off for $25. They are decent enough.
