    omg it's ugly

    • Hideous ain’t it

      • +1

I like how they named it H1 and painted yellow, I can hardly tell if it's a Himo or Hammer.

    • +2

Good if you work in a circus though…

They’re going to call me ‘blunt force trauma’ from all the head turns I’ll be getting cruising on this.

  • +2

They are making scooters like phones, less features, but more expensive
Which end do you sit on? Is this a kids scooter, because my ass wont even fit anywhere on that thing

    • Phones 15 or so years ago you mean, back when they were trying to get smaller and smaller.

Wait for it, in a couple years it'll come around and you'll be back to full sizers.

      • haha nope, people keep showing that they are willing to pay more and more for less and less features. Phones don't even have audio jacks or chargers anymore and people love it still. As long as people keep buying the newest phones with missing features, companies will keep doing it.

        • Look, as someone who's used Bluetooth headphones almost exclusively for a good 5 years now, it's still annoying to me when they try to remove the jack. Until a phone is genuinely so thin that they can't fit the jack on there in any way at all, there's no reason to not include it. Just a piss off really.

  • Tip: The geometry of the scooter make it less-than ideal for skate-parks.

    • I was hoping to get some grinding done on the local street gutter.

Make 75% discount than may be I buy this monkey bike for my son.

They are compensating for the weight of the battery pack to move you fat ass on this contraption. If it doesn't buckle and break in half first.

  • Surely this is an electric bike and therefore legal…

    • +1

if it can outrun a walking police officer :)

  • It's 799 everywhere. So not exactly 50% off

I wonder if you need a helmet to drive this?

    • I was wondering the same thing. Given the range I would expect so.

    • +2

Whoever sits on this one doesn't need protection helmet provides.

    • +1

You'd want the helmet to hide your shame though

  • +1

Kudos for portability. It's really in the realms of "why not walk". One design fault brought over from the strida is the taller you are the closer the seat comes to the handle bar, yet if you're smaller there is more room! Oh, and tiny wheels will see you falling off it initially.

These are great for a short commute to the office. Saves a few bucks for the ferry/ bus ride. It folds up nicely and fits under your office desk where it recharges nicely for the trip home. Also can have a spare interchangeable battery too.

'Hey guys - we need to make a new scooter real quick to keep up with the other companies!'
'Well all i have are these hospital bed legs + yellow paint + battery + and a blow torch……..hang on a darn minute'

  • +1

Howcome the wheels are so small?

    • +1

It's not small. It's ordinary shopping trolley wheels.

  • +7

It didn't count as a bike even though it's named as a bike.

    Hi jerjergege,
The Xiaomi HIMO H1 you are referring to is a 'motorised personal mobility device' and as it doesn't meet the Australian Design Rules (ADR's) or standards for registration it cannot be used on public roads, footpaths or road-related areas. Such a device can only legally be used on private property. For more information, please refer to this page on the VicRoads website: https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/safety-and-road-rules/road-r…

LED front light to ride safely

It'll need more than that for safety.

  • Is this a scooter for ants ?

  • My pram has larger wheels. This must be made for perfectly smooth race tracks.

  • I wonder if this would skirt NSW regulations that make scooters illegal.

Of course under the legislation, if this had pedals it would be 100% legal. Electric bikes are legal.

I wonder if the absence of pedals makes this a scooter, or could one claim it's an electric "balance bike" ?

    • +2

The officer would be too busy laughing at you to give you a ticket.

  • 20km mileage makes no sense
    20km kilometrage, thanks
