  • How heavy is it?

    • I couldn't find any information on that, but I did come across this review on the metro 2 which indicates the metro 2 is 12kg, I assume they are alike on that regard, judging by their similar look and spec.

Doesnt even have a picture of what it looks like folded….

Yeah, its weird how little information you can find on this bike. But I did also find this which provides more pics even with mudguards and rear rack attached.

    • bike folds in half. handle bars go down. easy fit in a sedan boot.

      • Are the two halves clipped together or would the folded half wobble around?

See the link to the Kogan bike below. Same bike with more accessories, half the price and a photo of it folded!

  • How many km will this go?

      No more, no less.

I have the original one. Decent for the price. Wouldn't recommend for long distances. Easy fit in a sedan boot

    • Can you recall how much was it?

  • Will they assemble it for me or how much will they charge me if I want it assembled?

    • Per my understanding they will assemble it for you if you choose to pick up from their store. If shipping to door it will be 85% assembled due to package limitation.

Kogan's folding bike is only $160 plus $6 for "First" (or free trtial)

Frame is maybe 2kg heavier, not going to make a lot of difference to your time-trials :-)

    Components look same quality.

I have this Kogan bike and I dare say it is exactly the same as the Reid bike above. The kogan model also has a bag rack at the back and the mud flaps. This probably accounts for the 2 kilos.

Needless to say the Kogan is infinitely better value.

      • Interesting. Would you mind telling me how do you find the Kogan one folded? Would the folded half wobble around? I might just canceled my Reid order and get the Kogan

        • +1

It's easily movable when folded and doesn't flap open when being lifted or carried on the back seat of a car.

I had it in the back seat of the car for two weeks and it didn't rattle or make any noise.

Just keep in mind these bikes are not suitable for steep hills.

          • @ash2000: Cheers! I don't think any bike is suitable for steep hills haha

            • @becku: It's not exactly my idea of fun either! Always happy to push the bike up.

I put a Sunrace 13-34 alpine freewheel on mine. Goes up steep hills just fine now :-)
Not sure where yopu can still buy them though.

            • @bargaino: Interesting.

Is it just a straight swap without any further modification?

Was a straight swap for me.
The rear-derailleur just managed it, but you may be less lucky and need to change it for an MTB version, $20 del. on ebay.

The folding mountain bike looks decent as well for under $200

    • But 19.5kg!

    • I came across that one too but there are some horrific reviews under it

The Kogan folding bike is really good value. I have had it for about 18 mths. Cost me about $120. Gears and non disk brakes work well. A mechanically quiet and smooth ride and although steel pedals like a light bike.
