  • Any experience with these? Reviews look good.

    • Bought a SW20+ and I must have been unlucky because it didn't even last 24hrs. Just died when I was charging my phone, screen went blank and all the ports stopped working. Returned it and got a refund from Amazon.

    • I bought the romoss 20,000 mAh model and my devices never quick charged from them

      • +4

You have to have a cable capable of quick charging. Also you must plug in to the 2nd USB PORT. One of the ports does NOT fast charge.

Read his/her description. It's quite clear.

    • +2

I have the 30,000Mah since Aug last year.

Works great and light for this size.

      • Largest Battery in town for the cheapest $$$$. Personally I would go with Xiaomi Powerbanks if it's 20000mah.

        • And with that, the 45W Xiaomis that can charge laptops. I have one to charge a laptop when out camping.

        • My Xiaomi 20000mah Powerbank got swollen and cracked the case after less.6 months of usage.

        • Yea, I have had Xiaomi for several years, and it is working still good

    • +4

I’ve got the Romoss LT20PS+ and the 26800mAh model. Both have been fantastic.

    • +2

I got a 5000 mah, which is the longest ever still living portable charger I have. It’s more than 6 yo. Used occasionally and still holds decent charge.

    • +1

I have used mine for -1-2 years now. Works well, fast charging works too.

I find that the 20000 is enough for a plane trip ( shorter / longer) with two people. I mainly use it on the go when travelling for business.

    • I've got the SW20+, no complaints - it works and it's cheap. I don't need to drag it around with me so weight isn't an issue. I just use it to charge devices in the baby's room so I'm not running cables where the little bugger can get to them… the joys of a 1920's house and only one powerpoint in most rooms. Husband ended up buying one as well for when he travels for work.

    • I've had the 30,000mAh for about a year. It's pretty good. Well built, with plenty of ports, plastic but well assembled (no cheap feel). 10/10 would buy again if I needed one more.
I always use it when I go out on holidays - can't depend anymore on finding power outlets at the right place to charge the phone.

  • Thanks we looking for powerbank for a few days does this one come with one of those led battery % indicators?

    • +1

      SW20+, LT20PS+ and Ares do.

      • Which is the best of those Clear?

    • It does. I have one and it's four light dots on the side, from memory

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought the Sense 8+

For those wondering the Sense 8+ is 111Wh.

  • Will this charge my 2019 MacbookPro 15 inch?

    • +1

Typically you want something 45W or higher. Unfortunately the 50W Romoss model won't be instock again for 2-3 months.

    • Xiaomi 65W is the way to go for that…

      • Any link please ?
I want to charge Dell XPs-15

        thanks

  • +3

Got one of these and call it the big chungus. Great battery.

    • Is that you Dankpods?

  • +1

    When does the sale end?

    • +2

      April 18th 11:59pm AEDT.

      • Will Romoss have any wireless powerbank in the near future? Thanks

  • +2

One of the ports on this doesn't fast charge. Makr sure the indicator is blue (indicating fast charge) and that your phone says it is fast charging!

    • The different ports have different symbols on top of them and charge at different rates.
I have the 30,000 one and when I got it and noticed it, I actually cut a little table included in the quick user guide and glued it to the side of mine - so it's easy to tell what charge gives each slot

      • Yeah kinda annoying. All the ports in the Xiaomi have fast charging.

  • Have 2 of theirs for 2 years which I can say are still working well.
1 is a big one with fast charging.
2nd is smaller more portable with inbuilt cable for usb and lightning adapter too. Hope they launch one similar to that one with inbuilt usb c. Sadly that design seems to no longer be available and not coming soon.

Anyone wondering what is worth buying? Honestly, unless you're a backpack carrier, a 10'000mah is the largest you want to go; the rest are just "too heavy" to go unnoticed in a satchel or a pocket.

    Personally, i own a rosmoss sw20+

    And this:
    10'000mah model

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B017CUMANU/

I almost never touch my rosmoss.

Another consideration, is that LiIon are much more stable and abusable batteries than LiPo, in regards to safety.

Ive had a couple of rosmoss "smoke out" at the 5 year mark (luckily, no fire, but the smoke is putrid).

Personally, unless you NEED the bigger size, the battery choice alone is enough to sell me on something using 18650 batteries.

Ymmv, just my experience and opinion :)

    • That's concerning. Might stick to Xiaomi then. Have a Xiaomi Power Bank 2 a the 5 year mark and still works. It does make a hissing sound whilst charging though.

      • +2

Thats capacitor or coil whine; not ideal, but not always a problem.

As for smoking out, or fire risk; Its not a rosmoss problem; its any LiPo pack thats at risk.

LiIon where possible if you're concerned :)

      • +1

Xiaomi's can swell when short circuited (yay poorly designed major brand USB designs), which is very concerning when you realise what is happening and notice that it is in a metal case. Not sure what stops the reaction after the swell as I like my hands.

        • +1

Yup they do indeed swell/bloat. That happened to a Xiaomi Powerbank 10000mah 1st gen which I actually got a year or 2 after the Xiaomi Powerbank 2.

    • Bought the Rosmoss SW20+. Hope it does a decent job with my Galaxy Note 10

    • This is not something you want to carry on you all the time. It's more something you take camping (driving, not walking) and leave in your tent for a few days. Or charge once every 4-5 days and use it beside your bedside table if there are no power outlets nearby

  • Any of these support super fast charging for s21 Ultra?

    • No. From memory their new 45W version did but unavailable for 2-3 months according to Clears comment on this post.

  • I’m not sure which version to get. What capacity do I need to power my iPhone X, if 20000 mAh is good enough, what benefit do I get if I get the 30000 mAh instead? Would it charge faster or does it mean I can charge more times before recharging the power bank?

Does 20000 mAh also need airline approval?

    • +1

what benefit do I get if I get the 30000 mAh instead? Would it charge faster or does it mean I can charge more times before recharging the power bank?

30,000 will change that bit more. Not anymore faster than 20,000.

Does 20000 mAh also need airline approval?

20,000 no. 30,000 yes. It's why I rather travel with two 20,000 than a single 30,000. Don't have to bother getting approval from airlines.

      • Like the airline gonna care, the see oh power bank and will let it slip

        • +3

Or they could confiscate it because you didn't get approval. Your choice if you want to chance it.

  • *Yes some airlines allow it with permission *

wait, so who gets to fly these days!? haha sad face

    • +3

Me! Flying away this week for my day job and will turn it into a holiday.

  • Got one for these for my son for xmas, lasted a month and now completely dead… can't get a return on it either.

    • +1

It would still be under warranty so you can contact Romoss through Amazon and they will sort it for you.

  • Excellent write up!

  • great deal, i own a 30+ and its an absolute champion of a battery. i brought a 20+ to chuck in my bag.

  • i bought a 10K one on the weekend (a few dollars more than this deal unfortunatly), came today. I have no experience with power banks prior to this and be happy to get a couple full charges from it (for when bushwalking). Look forward to putting it through its paces!

  • OP would the ROMOSS Slim Power Bank 10000mAh be in stock anytime soon before the promo ends?

  • Whats the diff between sw20+ and sense 6+?

  • Note the 18W fast charge 10,000mah LiPo Romoss Sense 4ps+ is also reduced by 20% when added to cart, from $29 to $23.20.

    • How much quicker is the fast charge. Is looks a bit thick. Is it worth the extra couple of dollars?

      • +1

The world of power banks is a bit like how deep is the rabbit hole. These companies hardly make it simple nor are they consistent with information and models seem repetitive.
All I know is it's a smaller format, pocket size, and half the size and weight that of the larger 20000mah units. This fast charge 10000mah unit provides the 18W of the larger units. The Sense 4 10000mah Clear listed in his post is less wattage and no LCD display, so it probably depends on the value you place on those features.
There is a comparison chart between the units in this amazon link roofyapple. And you're right it does look chunky for a Lipo unit, closer to the size of a Lion unit with 18650 batteries as MasterScythe details.

  • My Romoss 30,000mAh arrived today. My second one! Thanks OP

  • Code not working with the Sense4 mini?

    • The deal has expired.

  • How do you discharge it before starting charging for the first time?

    • Any reason to? They're not NiCd cells that you used to find in laptops in the old days and required it.

      • The instructions that came with it said to do it.

        • I see. Feel free to just use it until flat then recharge.

          • @Clear: Yeah, you'll find literally every chinese made device has copy-paste nimh/nicd battery advice.

Even a few entry level "big brand" devices do.

Its actually something that should be looked into; but by who? Well thats the problem.
