  • Why is Xbox always in stock, and no PS5's…. :(

    • +50

Apart from exclusives xbox series x is the better console imo.

        • +28
          • Xbox is actually utilizing it's hardware even on non patched games like modern warfare for example which can play at 4k 120fps vs the PS5 which is running the PS4 version which doesn't go above 60fps which is the same for all ps4 games played on ps5.

          • Gamepass is obviously quite good with no such PS5 equivalent.

          • Much better looking console and shape, Seriously what where Sony thinking.

          • Backwards compatible with multiple generations of xbox games.

PS5 only has a few exclusives and that's really it, controller is nice but certainly not enough to

Please tell me why you think PS5 is better? Cause honestly excluding exclusives there is zero reason to own the PS5 that i can think of.

            • +2

@nomoneynoproblems: I said excluding exclusive's which we already know is a plus for PS5 everything else is available on both consoles.

Anything else cause so far PS5 only has one thing going for it and that's a few exclusives while having quite a lot of negatives.

            • -2

              @nomoneynoproblems:

Paying for game pass to play old games we’ve all played before

Outriders, Genesis Noir and Narita Boy all came out in April, how is that old?
All Xbox Studio games are released Day One on Game Pass.

Sure there's a huge amount of older games to fill up the library, but to suggest it's just older games is plain wrong.

          • +1

@Axelstrife: Nah. I never said the ps5 was better. It’s probably no better or worse. I can confidently say that the Xbox is more powerful and gamepass is amazing.

          • +1

@Axelstrife: Don't even bother trying to explain bro, telling a PS fanboy is like telling an apple dog, apples crap and Android is king.

They won't see the light till they make the change.

        • +3

          That's such a subjective comment.

Ironically throws in a subjective comment to boot.

        • +1

Xbox runs most of the old games, so I don’t need to keep old consoles lying around (they take up alot of space), it also plays music CD’s (yes I use this feature), and it’s appearance is slightly less offensive.

Spec wise there’s not much in it.

To be balanced, the controller on the PS5 is better technically, but partially because they copied the xbox design.

I might get a PS5 when they make a mini version in a few years.

        • Wow a hella lot of down votes unnecessarily. Look, the PS5 has the exclusives, the Xbox Series X, in the current GPU environment, if you're someone with an older/aging Gaming PC or just had a Xbox One, it's still a great value of a machine. And the more it becomes like a PC the better, for $750 you wouldn't even get close to starting on a PC that is as capable.

The PS5 still has the exclusives though, so it's still in higher demand and may even be in lower supply, that's why it's out of stock, plain and simple.

      • +2

Exclusives are how Nintendo have survived with their inferior hardware

        • +1

it's makes sense though all there games are more kid friendly which is how they beat the PSP/Vita and these days they don't really have any competition in the handheld gaming market.

          • @Axelstrife: The PSP/Vita had plenty of family friendly games too but can you imagine Nintendo without console sellers like Pokemon, Mario, SSB and AC? No one would buy a device with specs from a 2 year old mid-range tablet if it weren't for the games.

      • Couldn't agree more. I got the xbox series x first and love it, amazing graphics, controllers, choice of games etc and I upgraded from xbox one x. Then I opened ozbargin one day and PS5 was the first post and had stock so I'm like why not, let's get one. Well I got it and all I can say is mehhhhhh!
        - it does not fit anywhere or on any TV unit!! It's huge, looks good, but sony what were you thinking!
        - bought the ps plus thing to get some good games, oh wow, lacklustre, I got God of war and crash bandicoot and a couple other no name games, would of bought them both for $30 or $40 online
        - controller! Who actually likes holding the controller its a mess! The xbox controller feels good in my hands the PS controller's feels chunky and awkward

That's my 2 cents on my recent play station experience. Don't hate, but I also am very far from loving it, just sort of sits in my loungeroom these days..

        • +3

          Interested to sell it? haha

    • +23

      PS5 is more popular?

But yeah, Game Pass kind-of makes the Xbox Series X the console to get this generation. At least the more console, with a lowest cost of ownership, more powerful, and quieter. PS5 probably has better exclusives (for now).

        • +15

Face reality, Jim Ryan is destroying PlayStation the way Don Mattrick destroyed Xbox last gen. (Coming from a PS5 owner).

At least Phil Spencer seems to care about repairing the Xbox brand.

I get you are loyal to Sony, but how can you champion a company willing to erase its legacy (PS3, PSP, Vita), just so they can save a few bucks?

          • +3

@Vinodra: Just buy/play the console that appeals the most to you based on your preferences. For some, it's just the games (like exclusives). For others, it's the hardware and/or services (like Game Pass). For others, it's breadth of supported features (like legacy BC). For many, it's all of the above.

            • @Spawn Peak: Why not both?

Seriously they cost the same as a mid range GFX card

          • -2

@Vinodra: I don't think that it's fair to say that legacy affects the current games getting released.
The lineup sony has had throughout PS4 and is gearing up for with PS5 is phenomenal, compared to Xbox or not. I could list them all but we all know them already. Can't say the same for Xbox.

            • +2

@softwhite: Their attitude towards legacy systems absolutely affects PS5, it represents a worrying change within PlayStation that is also being seen with the closing of Japan Studio and their overall attitude towards Japanese developers.

Not to mention how the PS5 could easily emulate PS1 and PS2 (because Xbox can emulate these systems), Sony just doesn't care.

        • -2

          Trolling fanboys = predictable.

      • +3

Don't forget smaller! I'd need another entertainment unit to store the PS5

    • +3

      Way Higher demand.

      • -3

demonstrating a fundamental lack of gaming knowledge and a massive amount of brand loyalty.

        • Pretty much sums up non-hardcore gamers

          • @Griffindinho: I dunno, if you read any of the "hardcore gamer" forums you'll find that they're generally the absolute worst fanboys around. NeoGAF/Resetera/Reddit gaming subs are just all console wars all the time.

        • +1

          It looks prettier…

          • @raybies: having to manually hit an off switch is pathetic.

            • @petry: Which console are you referring to?

              • @softwhite: ohh you didn't know ? the ps5 of course because the xbox has a controller off from release…

                • +2

@petry: Just not sure what you mean by having to manually switch off the ps5. I have had one from release and I never manually switch it off.

                • @petry: Can also get Google to do it, or the TV or phone…. great features I have used Google a few times when I see the kids have left it on.

                  • @Spendmore: what - a sony tv? google links are optional as are phone and remote play.

any real gamer knows that sony moved the off button on the 5 to a new button at the far end of the sub menu just because they forgot it to begin with.

the 5 is a disaster - moving games/ storage on the 5 is like prehistoric in comparison to the series x. why anyone pretends otherwise is strange. 1 drive - under 8tb - only 1 copy etc. about as unfriendly as it gets.

cyncics would say like samsung Sony likes to listen all the time.

                    • +1

@petry: Xbox has indeed done a great job with the series x when it comes to that stuff. Including other features that you'd expect like 1440p native support. They have Microsoft's expertise to go off.

                    • @petry: I meant as in using Google home, it works with Xbox and HDMI CEC will turn the tv off with the Xbox which is configurable in the Xbox menu.

                      • +1

@Spendmore: sorry i thought you were only talking about the ps5 - my mistake.

    • -3

Because Xbox is the console of the thinking man, the intellectual. PS5s are for the chads/masses.

    • +1

Neither of them are in stock for more than an hour, they are both selling every unit they can produce.

  • +1

    Thanks OP!

  • Does anyone know when we can expect retail stores - Big W/JB to have any stock? Need to use some gift cards.

    • +2

Buy Microsoft/Xbox gift cards with your JB/BigW gift card then buy with MS Balance ;)

  • Why did they change the shape?

    • +3

To fit more powerful hardware in a smaller unit

    • +3

Because I told Microsoft to change the shape.

    • +6

Larger fan and better cooling, exact same reason Apple made the previous Mac Pro this size and shape.

      • +2

Kinda wish all PCs had this shape. Much better form factor for efficiency.

        • You mean less surface area ?

          • +1

@jv: I don't like how big PCs are generally. TBH it's just a personal preference.

        • +1

There's a reason Apple abandoned it, the shape was very limiting for what hardware they could put into it. They won't make that mistake again.

    • +2

1 big fan makes it extremely cool and quiet. That's why.

    • +9

I actually love the Series X shape. I hate the way the PS5 looks in my entertainment unit.

      • +1

Maybe it's been designed for your entertainment unit. Not everyone has the same type though.

        • +9

The PS5 isn't designed for anyone's entertainment unit.

          • +1

@smartazz104: i'm sure whale lovers like it, and probably play whalesong while dying in the dark souls remake…

      • Get black plates for the PS5, it looks better than the white plates.

      • Xbox shape is way better. When I see a ps5 https://imgur.com/r/highqualitygifs/bLppPEo

    • Differentiate it from your toaster.

      • +2

        I use my PS4 to fry eggs…

  • Out of stock already?

"You have reached the maximum quantity for a product"

I only put one in my cart…..

    • +18

I only put one in my cart…..

      Try ½

      • +6

Scraping the bottom of the jokes barrel there jv.

    • Maybe you already have one in the cart. Try a new browser.

      • -1

        Try a new browser.

        How new?

        • :) any browser jv. A different browser won't have your cart saved (unless it's saved to your account if signed in)/

    • Probably because the only reason you'd buy more than 1 is to scalp it

  • All good. Thanks.

  • Thanks!

  • if i'm not mistaken, you can get 3% cashback on xbox gift cards at cashrewards, use it and get an additional 1.5% cashback for the purchase of the console

    • The cashback is only for cash purchases so its either or.

      • you sure? i've received cashback for buying xbox games using a giftcard. i thought the same would apply to consoles as well.

        • You may not be eligible for Cashback:

If a gift card is purchased or used as payment.

          • @[Deactivated]: yea "may". i've always received it. anyways worth a try.

  • +1

I've been a PC gamer for the last decade but am extremely happy with my series x. I wanted a new gpu but decided on this as it's cheaper and has more games than the pc game pass.
My only gripe it's taking me ages to re-learn how to use a controller.

The xbox feels just as good as my 1070ti PC. So it's roughly in that ball park in terms of graphical power, closer to a 1060/1070 though.

Good bit of kit if you have game pass. If you don't then the Ps5 would be the better buy.

    • It’s a great investment if you want to play video games at high settings without paying $2-4k

    • +4

There's no way I could go back from PC, I started playing outriders on xbox game pass to try and save some money and immediately said screw this and spent $70 for the PC version, M/KB for shooters feel a millions times better.

Consoles really need to start having both controller and M/KB support especially for games like this where using it gives no competitive advantage.

      • Since matchmaking parties on cross platform games are split between controller users and keyboard/mouse users it would be great if all Xbox Series X games support keyboard/mouse and just match up against PC players.

        • Doesn't need to be split though it's not PVP so no way to gain competitive advantage over controller users so it's just down to preference which peripheral you wish to use.

      • +2

The devs already have the option of allowing M/KB support. Halo MCC just got it on Xbox.

        • I know they have the option but the amount of devs adding support is abysmal.

      • I wouldn’t discount all shooters though. Outriders has aim acceleration which makes playing with a controller terrible. I don’t blame you for buying the pc version. I specifically didn’t buy the game on console for that reason

        • Wow no wonder it felt extremely bad, i have played games like horizon zero dawn with controller which is fine but outriders felt very bad.

      • I found Outriders on Xbox worked with M/KB but couldn't figure out the mapping for the keys. Basic movement worked as expected, though.

    • +3

Pretty sure the XSX is much more powerful than a 1060 - 1070ti it has been compared with a rtx 2080 with the RT performance of the 2060. Pretty sure the GPU in XSX is a cut down version of the RX 6800 (XSX 52CU's compared to RX 6800's 60CU's) they run about the same 1815Mhz too.

      • I just remember a snippet from a tech reviewer, might have been digital foundry or gamers nexus, and just remember them saying roughly 1070 performance. Maybe I was wrong, but it's definitely acceptable in my opinion.

        • Definitely well above a 1070.

  • Out of stock "This item is out of stock. Please remove or save for later."

    • Tried it again 4 minutes later and it let me complete the order.

      • tried now says out of stock again can't proceed the order :(
