That is cheap was $40 from Banggood last year.

  • +4

Kogan memberships are half price at the moment, so even if you had to pay $6 for 1 month this is still a great offer for $31

      Kogan First $100 to $50.

Has anyone used Kogan first long term? Is it worth considering at $50?

      • I have a kogan credit card which comes with free kogan first. Which is the only reason I've kept it.

      • +2

Has anyone used Kogan first long term? Is it worth considering at $50?

        No.

Consider what Amazon Prime gets you for $59. A bigger store, Amazon music, Prime gaming (free twitch prime), Amazon Prime TV/movie streaming, more local stock (less imports), better returns policy. Just the TV streaming alone makes the $59 worth it. You get the latest Amazon exclusives in the subscription you paid for to get free shipping. That's $5 a month to stream their exclusives in addition to free shipping on Prime items.

Kogan First does not give you anywhere close to that value, even at half price. Whatever Kogan sells, I'm sure you'll be able to find it somewhere else.

    Thanks bought one.

Do I have to wait until Kogan ships the item to cancel the 14 day free trial?

    • +1

Pretty sure the subscription runs the 14 days even after you cancel.

      • Kogan First is one the few that will stop as soon as you cancel according the the T&Cs

"If you cancel your Kogan First membership during the free trial period, you will incur no fees or other charges for the membership. Your Kogan First trial will end immediately and you will no longer receive any Kogan First benefits."

Last time I bought this from Kogan, it was delayed 6 months then they cancelled on me.

    • +12

Sounds like the same experience I have when I tell the ladies about my Wowstick

      • +5

        Could be a sizing issue..

        • Underwhelmed by the wowstick.

        • It's the motion of the ocean and all that 🙃

    • What explanation did Kogan give ? Did you pay six months of Kogan first membership of $36 - 6* $6

The claim Leaves warehouse in 1-2 business days.

      • They just told me the order could not be filled and refunded my money.

This was a deal where there was no requirement for Kogan first.

  • Does this set have the Y type bits for iPhone?

  • +2

I bought it for $40 from Kogan.
This is really a good deal. I've to also add that the bits are in 3 tube case. I'd prefer all in one case.

    • +2

Yeah. Saw the review mokr posted below. They could have made the screwdriver and bit holder bigger so it holds all 3 tubes of screw bits.

      • Yeah the case is both to small to fit the bits, but also much bigger than it needs to be for the space that it does have. One flat panel to put all the bits in would have been better.

Man, bought a set of screwdrivers from Kogan last time Non-stop email and text spam, and you can't even opt of the email without loging in. Never again.

Grabbed one. Had to send it to my work address as my home address added $18 in postage. Free shipping my butt.

    • Even though the free shipping is tempting, any photos you could share?

      • +2

        free shipping my butt

        any photos you could share?

        Of his butt?

      • Huh?

    • Same here …. $16.99 for postage for me as well - I have Kogan First as well

    • Thanks for this.

  • Just what I was looking for, thanks for posting.

  • Estimated Delivery Times have changed

Leaves warehouse in 1-2 weeks. Before it said 1-2 business days

  • I have the manual one, what is the likelihood of stripping a screw with the motorised screwdriver?

    • +2

Pretty low except for tiny components. It's not very fast or very high torque

  • What is this useful for? Is it just for small screws? Like sunglasses? Is it really something that you use regularly?

    • +1

Laptops, phones, normal everyday screws. Electronics in general it is great for.

Also, just average sized screwed as well.

      • Ah OK. So electrics. Not something I ever need a screwdriver for so I'm glad I asked.

    • Practically every small electrical item will require small bits like this. I wouldn't use on glasses/sunglasses.

  • Are the tips magnetic?

    • +2

Not out of the box, but they include a magnetiser.

      • They driver it's magnetic, so the bits are magnetised while they're in the driver.

  • +1

Hah! Not when they want $16.00 delivery to an "ineligible" postcode.

    • Did you get Kogan First free trial?

  • Thanks got myself a set

  • micro usb not usb c. They have a usb c version.

  • Are these worth it? I've got something similar but isn't battery powered, and probably doesn't have as many head bits (only 24).

My main concern with something like this is that it might over torque and possibly strip the threads. Maybe even strip the screw bits if the power is unexpected

    • it's not powerful. It's more to save you some energy from turning it manually. It's not a drill driver. Something this size will never have that kind of power.

      • It's not a drill driver.

I don't expect people to use this for their Ikea furniture or anything.

Something like this is mainly used for delicate electronics with tiny screws that can easily be stripped and sometimes plastic threads, you certainly don't need anything close to a drill driver to over torque. Then you need to consider some of the heads used are more susceptible to being threaded than say your average philips head

        • you definitely don't need to worry about that. It's incredibly weak. It's used for convenience, not power. Anything with a battery this small and charged via USB is going to be weak.

You won't be able to undo a screw that is screwed in tight with it. You'll need to manually loosen it first, and then you can electronically remove the screw. And if you're screwing it in, when it stops, you have to manually tighten it.

Not a fan of the tube style bit containers especially as only one of the three tube fits in the storage box. Here is hoping that Xiaomi come out with a flat style box (even two layer) for the included 56 bits. Would make it a lot easier to select correct bit and more importantly a single place to store the lot.
    I would then purchase.

    Out of stock it seems

  • Has it been shipped?

I ordered early yesterday but has not been shipped

  • +2

Been over 16 days since I claimed this deal but no update from Kogan. Should have listened to Gibsyplays' warning above

  • they had it back in stock a few days ago for $39 which is still a reasonable price so i grabbed one. maybe the fact that i used credit from a previous delayed shipment should have told me something :)

in any case, the listing is totally removed from their website now so who knows what they're going to do.

And I just got an order cancellation email…

  • Still waiting for mine. I can’t find a cancellation email…

Also isn’t this what we ordered:

      • Also got this email after flowing up a few days ago.

        • Did you keep your Kogan First subscription?

I cancelled my trial a week later, maybe that's why they cancelled my order?

          • @Hellcrusher3304: I had Kogan First from Kogan Credit Card deal, came free with the card. Not too sure why yours got cancelled, seems weird that because they did this when it was their fault for the delay…

          • @Hellcrusher3304: I cancelled mine three days before it was going to renew and I’d be charged.
