    On a Side note has anyone got any experience with their hiking boots? Looking at a new pair around the $150 price point, wondering if the decathlon ones are okay or better going a ‘branded’ pair from somewhere else.

      Yeah Decathlon boots are fine. They do follow the European trend of of being fairly narrow and lower volume than other brands (except German brands).

      Plus they are pretty good with the warranty, my friend had a pair of snow boots that he returned and got a replacement after a month or two of use (sole was split on left boot).
