Seems like a pretty good deal for a nice little set of speakers, last cheapest posted here for $60.

Seems to be $99 at most other places.

You can stack the Amazon Mobile App coupon so I ended picking it up for $45!

My first deal after joining for 5 years, so let me know if I did anything wrong.

Cheers.

  • Considering how god awful most $50 speakers are this seems like a deal

    • Yeah definitely couldn't pass it up for $45 lol.

      • Yep you wont find better for even $110…

however given these have a 4" driver and no real means to run a sub these will obviously be bass light.

        • +1

You can easily run a sub with analogue audio splitters

  • What is this Amazon Mobile App coupon you refer to?

    • It was like this offer but not sure on the code since I redeemed it already so it doesnt appear anymore sorry.

    • Probably used code APPONLY10 to get $10 off the first in app purchase.

  • Anyone have much experience hooking these up to a PC or Macbook?
My finger's on the trigger button but I'm cautious of the extra cost for the amp and maybe cables, trying to avoid any grief!

    • Built in amp. Nothing else required.

      • Ahh fantastic, thank you sir!

    • No amp needed AFAIK, one of the reasons I got em.

  • Usually dispatched within 1-2 months

    • Guess too many people bought them lol.

    Nice one Tyler.

      Thank you Walter.

why lithium ion battery is required?

    • Remote control. Some sellers remove them because of shipping requirements.

  • Got one, thanks.

  • +1

Your head is looking deformed as ever Tyler, keep it up.

  • Any recommendations for smaller speakers?

    • Same, I was looking into audioengine a2+, size-wise is great but the price is out of my budget.

The other alternatives would be a small soundbar, but I'm not sure how it goes with the monitor stand, maybe need a raiser and tuck the soundbar below it?

  • Got it for $45. Used my $10 gift card from my cancelled SSD drive.

Not in stock! Thanks everybody ;)

  • Hello I'm looking to setup a budget home theatre system. Previously I was considering getting in ceiling speakers. But they're about $350 each for 8" speakers.

At less than a 1/4 of the cost, I could consider getting these.

    Does anyone know:
    1. If I can mount these on my ceiling, facing down and run cabling through the walls?
    2. If they would be suitable for a 5.0 setup? I'd get 4 on each corner of the room plus 1 right in the middle.

Even with my in ceiling speakers, I want going to have a subwoofer due to budget requirements.

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

    • They are powered speakers so I doubt you'll want them sitting in your ceiling 🔥

You could consider these cambridge audio c46 ceiling speakers. Good sound for small speakers @ $170 a pop. Place 4 in the ceiling toward the corners and place a sub and centre near your AV set up. If you're going for a 7.1 then perhaps add a L/R front with some Volls or the like, and you'd be a bit over $1K.

Voll have a sale on their ceiling speakers at the moment I see so you could kit yourself out with ceiling speakers, sub, and L/R bookshelf for around $900.

      • Thanks for your reply. The c46 link you shared…I'm almost certain they may be too small.

The rep at a local media store advised minimum 6" speaker. 2.25" appears to be the one in the link.

Definitely going for a budget setup. Do you have any recommendations for a small 3.5x4m room?

Hoping to connect to a receiver in the next room. Cheers

        • For a room that size a 2.0 or 2.1 system may be all you need. Perhaps have a look on the second hand sites gumtree, facebook etc. Is it for a TV or music?

          • @cornbeef: For a projector. It's going to be the only tv in the apartment

            • @activ8newbs: If you're on a tight budget powered speakers will do away with the need for an amp, and Edifier have quite a range. If you are using an amp and passive speakers then perhaps have a look on those second hand sites. A second hand Bose lifestyle system can be had fairly cheap for a surround system. Otherwise a 2.1 bang for buck the Voll P44 and S8 subwoofer are hard to beat at $420.

Thanks everyone. Save me $55. I have so many speakers and headphones.

  • How speakers look cosmetically and how they sound can be miles apart - these are way too cheap to have anything near quality components. But as voice speakers I'm sure they're fine.

    These will definitely suck.

    • y tho

      • -2

Because no good speakers would cost 50 odd dollars.

  • Back in stock everyone!

    • Maybe stock from cancelled orders.

    • Gone again, cannot add to cart

      • Back again… maybe not for long though

        • Anddd its gone lol.

  • Back in for back ordering….
Noob question. Can I use these as PC speakers?

    • +1

Yes you can. They have a built in amplifier so simply plug and play.

  • Thanks op, much appreciated 😊

  • how did you get the amazon app discount?
