Only if the cow did 14 days of quarantine

    • Using imported ingredients?

Imported ingredients that had been exported from Australia.

    • +2

      We don't import cattle..
Bindaree Foods runs their processing facility in Inverell NSW, which is where all this meat comes from

    • +6

Factually correct. Cattle is not native to Australia

Sorry, but Aldi meats are notorious for their lack of quality.

The old adage, 'you get what you pay for' rings true here.

    • Their free range chicken is good, I've had some decent steaks from there too, just need to know how to pick them out. Marbling was insane, haven't seen anything that good at supermarkets.

That said, I agree most of it isn't the best quality.

Big fan of rump steak, so much flavour.

    • I made a HUGE mistake in buying their diced beef, it is like chewing leather !!! $15/kg I reckon I get better beef from the butcher. Learnt my mistake and will not buy from Aldi again.

      • +1

Stir fry strips are the same

      • +1

Often diced is leg muscle …..buy rump and dice yourself ….

      • LoL.

        huge missed steak.

    • True, YMMV like a lot of supermarket meat especially when it comes to beef. We often use Aldi beef in the pressure cooker though and its fine. If i want rumps or better to eat as a steak/roast usually i'll get from costco and sous vide. Found the meat quality vs value at costo to be about right usually.

Have had no issue with Aldi pork or chicken personally.

    • Hmm I hear an echo of Sutton forest justifying their meat quality and exorbitant pricing …..also meat is fine if you select the right cut and cook it right.

      • It's not just about selecting the right cut, the meat had to be good quality. There's so much variability in meat, you can get two virtually identical steaks, same cut, same weight, cook them exactly the same, but the end result will always be different, unless they are from the same cow.

    • Sadly I have to agree with RRP.

  • aldi meats suck had to throw out 3kg meat coz nobody liked it

    • +7

Wow you could have slow cooked it and made a stew.

  • Stopped off specially @Aldi on way home for this…
The beef had stampeded - none left.

    • Fine dining for pets over the next few days?

  • Aldi chicken is good but from my experience their beef doesn’t taste good and low quality even tried their “premium” porterhouse steak was blah

Woolies is much much better for beef , preference is local butcher

    • wouldn't agree more, their fresh chicken taste really good pork are ok but their beef are hit and miss.

  • I feel sorry for the cows lol.

    • even the cows are not happy with the aldi meat

Going by what everyone is saying, these cows lived a particularly long life.
