In this week's BIG W catalogue on page 24 they have advertised a Belkin Mini Dock for $29.87, however the actual image printed incorrectly is of a Logitech Speaker Stand which is usually $92. Because of this error, the iPad speaker stand has been reduced to $29.87 as well.

Went to my local officeworks who had some stock but they wouldn't price match. The reasons they gave were the wording was different in the ad (ie "logitech mini dock" instead of "logitech speaker stand") and I couldn't conclusively prove there was still stock in a nearby Big W. Jerks!
just came back from local officeworks and spent over 1 hours to argue with the team leader, general manager…… finally I purchased the only two (at $28.38 each) on the shelf, lol
Purchased the last Logitech iPad dock from Officeworks Aspley and it took the guy less than 5 minutes to check Big W website and ring one Big W store to confirm the deal and I left with one Logitech stand..

I just got back from Bonnyrigg Big W where the nice young bloke this morning put 1 away for me - and when I got there they had 1 more left so I grabbed it . Thats a SOLD OUT now. Campsie was a lot closer to home for me but last night I couldn't really make my mind up to get one - glad I got it today it really looks a beauty!
If there was a genuine enforceable case for pricematching, the local officeworks here would simply remove them from the shelves.
And I dislike the local HN store so much I was sorely tempted to go in with the item and docket from BigW to hit them up for a pricematch, just to see the looks on their faces. lol
As it turned out, we'd no sooner gotten home from getting one (20k's each way) than I had to turn around and do the trip again - it was missing the power adaptor. Ended up getting the last one.
I got the same story -computer says 3 in stock but none on the shelf. I don't want to sound skeptical but if I start seeing them on the shelf straight after the sale, I will be cranky….
Rang all Big W's this morning that I was willing to travel to - all sold out.
Called Chadstone Officeworks (2 mins up the road) - had 4 in stock. Went in at 10am and the guy knew all about the deal, told the guy on the register to put it through as a price match at $29 (bonus!!!) and then I received an additional 5% off paying $27.55!!!!!! Bargain……..

Went to brisbane cbd yesterday (friday) after work, but all sold out. So today (saturday) morning I went to bigw chermside at 9am as it is right next to where we live, but also sold out. He said it was one of their most popular items and that they will get more stock on the 18th! I asked if the price would be the same, and he said yes because it is their normal price and not a sale price. So yeah, take from that what you will, but could be worth calling them on the 18th if you still need one.
Not wanting to travel all over the state to find one, I gave it one last shot at aspley officeworks as it's stated in this thread that they had a few left. They did not. However, he told me they still had stock at officeworks in strathpine, so I figured it was close enough. Went there and grabbed the last one from the shelf, price matched to 28 something, YAY :)
They might still have more though even though I didn't see any on the shelf, so you could always call and check. They did have a display model too, so maybe they'll let you grab that one if they are sold out.

Matt the store manager at OW pakenham (vic) would not price match. showed me a letter with todays date on it supposedly from head office. it had something about ozbargain in it and how they are not to honour the deal saying that it is a imprint or wrong name yada yada. Even after ringing the guys at bigw fountain gate about the price Matt would not even talk to him with regards to product/price verification. ah well… i suppose its always easy for these companies to get away with these things… :/ Great deal for those who managed to get one though! Esp if you got a further 5% off! lol…

Got one at 11am this morning at the Fountain Gate store (Vic). At the time they had heaps. Went back at 2:30pm to get another for a friend, all sold out. Tried the Endeavour Hills store, also sold out.. Awesome bargain though, thanx plexor!.
I got one at penrith (NSW). There were still 2 left on the shelf @ 4pm when I got mine.

Yeah, that was kind of my point, he was obviously misinformed. He did however have the catalogue in front of him with the right page and knew right away what "ipad dock" I meant before I had a chance to show him, so I was hardly the first one there. But obviously it has been mixed up with another product based on his comment. So by the time the 18th comes around it is unlikely the price will still be this low, but worth a shot definitely.
Anyone tried getting one from Canberra? Apparently the lady from OfficeWork Fyshwick told me that BigW came out to apologise for their mistake and therefore they won't price matching this deal.
This morning I managed to get OW Tuggeranong to price match. It was the only one they had left in a box. There was a display model, but I didn't see any empty box for it. Took them a while for a few of the staff to decide if it was the same product but they eventually did the deal.
It looks like their Monday night staff weren't informed of this because I jagged 3 (reluctantly by them) at the time.
Avoid the OW branches if your still trying to get one as they released an internal memo about this and they are not going to honour it anymore. Stick to Big W if you can find one - has anyone tried the NSW stores Chullora and Menai as yet?

tried 3 officeworks branches that actually had them in stock NONE would price match in Victoria, mentioned some type of internal memo.
Still looking… most of the big w stores are saying the computer is showing x amount in stock but nothing on the shelves or out back. However when they do eventually get them in, they will be the same price.

Just managed to get one this afternoon from Officeworks Chadstone VIC for $28.11!! Stopped on the way home to give the pricematch a go. The checkout girl didn't even hesitate to put it though. I guess it depends on the luck of the draw with who serves you…

Picked up 3 from Office Works Fyshwick, Canberra.
After about 20mins of back and forth with 2 staff and a manager, they very reluctantly price matched - well the 2 guys really didn't care, the manager did.
It was quite a sight seeing the price on the register read out to be approx. $300 and then drop down to $85 lol!

Surprising they did this for you considering they've been told from their head office not to do the price match unless they can confirm Big W has the stock. You were very lucky.
Well that's what the manager did, he called up Big W in Gungahlin and the Big W rep said they had 2 in stock! I was a bit nervous when he was on the phone, because earlier in the day I had called Big W in the city and they were all out, so definitely lucky.
How is everyone doing this? Getting price match at ow?? Do the managers not go waving a memo in your face?
Certain team members/managers must not know or care; it's not like every single team member or manager is going to have read the internal memo from a few days ago. Plus, the policy is pretty inconsistently applied, it's not rare to see people on here finding some stores will happily price match places like MSY, while others will resist.
But yeah, the official line is that since Big W stores largely ran out of stock on Saturday, Officeworks is hardly going to price match an item their competitor doesn't have in stock. What'll be interesting to see is what happens when Big W gets more stock again.
This must be the case because the OW Fyshwick team obviously didn't know anything about it when I took 3 from them, this was Monday night.
Yes but price matching does not apply to "errors" - so to anyone who is lucky to get OW price matching Big W on this then thank your lucky stars!
I suppose where the rubber meets the road on this issue is that Big W has dropped the price of their iPad dock to make good on their error, so that even people who have no idea about all of this would get the reduced iPad price if they bought it.
The Officeworks Price Match policy on their website does not explicitly say stores won't price match for this reason (ie; a competitor universally honouring a catalogue error), but only for non-identical items (or parallel imports), contract pricing, package deals, cash backs, resellers or contract pricing.
Doubtless Officeworks stores would deny the price match on the basis of it being Big W's error, but I think the fact that Officeworks stores have been told by their head office to price match only if Big W has stock reflects the correct application of the policy.
I was one of the lucky ones to score one of the Logitechs from Officeworks on Saturday, JUST before the guy told the person putting my transaction through not to accept any more as they had just had notification from Head Office.
I rang a Big W store on Monday to see if they had received more stock and she said she had 2 more come in. Thought I better confirm the product before driving all the way there and they turned out to be the Belkin stands (the one that Big W should have been selling at $29+). So if you call a Big W and they have more stock, check if it is still Logitech or now the Belkin!

Got 2 from big w newcastle west yesterday, with another 2 on the shelf. surprisingly they were not in the entertainment section but in office supplies. only stock available in newcastle area after a ring around yesterday, though not sure about ow.
