Kit includes 5ah battery and charger. Seems to be a good deal considering the grinder skin only is going for $329 at Bunnings https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-18v-125mm-xr-brushless-pa….

lol that looks dangerous. I love it.
With the fine teeth and high speed it tends not to run away or such.. Take care and it's all good…
Does the guard fit over it? I find my circular saw and especially my reciprocating saw does a good job tree pruning.
@subywagon: I agree with the recipro. I bought a few 12" blades and it is almost like a chainsaw.
@subywagon: Yep, All good:

I've been cutting and carving PVC pipe with it recently which is why it's white..I dont have a cordless recip saw… yet…
@FLICKIT: Fits nice.
I dont have a cordless recip saw… yet…
Same, but I did accidently cut through the cord once so I guess I did for an hour or so though it was useless lol
If you like this, you should try the 54V one.
Total Tools have same price, combine with this offer to get 10% store credit back in points https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/614728#comment-10292256
Bought one at 9 this morning from Preston, VIC. Lucky, as I needed to get an angle grinder on short notice. It’s done it’s job well, and after a few hours of use I’m very happy with it. They only had one left on the shelf after I left, may have been more out the back.
This offer has been around since Black Friday 2020
Good piece of kit though
Am I the only one who has always had a horrid experience with Sydney Tools?
Mind share your story?
The first time I was overcharged for a product in-store and it took 2 cases with NSWFT for corporate to action a resolution (and they only offered a credit I had to redeem in-store).
Most recently I ordered an item via Click-and-Collect. Never received an order confirmation email, never received an invoice, never got a notification that my order was ready to be collected, and when I did go in to try and pick it up they said their warehouse was closed and to come back another time.
I am honestly surprised at how they manage to turnover profit with such low level of customer service at both a corporate and retail level.
First time I've been to Sydney Tools (in Perth) but the sales guy was friendly, no problems at all
You're not the only one. On the two occasions I've been to Sydney Tools they've been, not horrid, but useless. I've never had anything but good service at my local Total Tools.
I too have only had poor experiences with Sydney Tools. Their stores are generally poorly organised, lots of stock that the website claims they have but can’t be found by staff. Buying stuff from them online is also a debacle. Takes ages to be shipped and I’ve had orders bounce around from store to store as they try to figure out how can fulfil it. Don’t expect any communication from them if something is on back order, you’ll have to chase them up…repeatedly.
I bought a kit during their "Makita Roadshow" that was $50 off their normal retail, plus was over $1000, so was meant to get a $200 Makita voucher to use for additional purchases (fine by me as I was also going to purchase some Makita yard tools). I have a screenshot which clearly displays the kit, the $50 off and the $200 credit.
Never got the Makita vouchers, apparently according to their T&C you can only use one promotion at a time, which for them was the $50 off. >:-/
7 months and over a dozen emails later I'm still trying to call them on their bullshit and get them to honour it. Best I've been able to get so far is that if I buy any new item for $50+, they'll then honour the vouchers, but I have to go through their marketing manager to do it, who's promised to call twice and hasn't done so.
Won't be buying anything off them again….
Have you tried opening a case via Fair Trading or ACCC? Even if it doesn't end with the most satisfactory solution at least there is a record against them for it.
I'm assuming there's not an equivalent kit to match at Bunnings?
It appears Bunnings only has the skin..
Maybe try Total Tools. Seems to have the same price as above and might price match.

I tried getting bunnings to price match, but they wouldn't because they don't stock the kit, they just stock each item individually.
Not surprising, they advertise it like hell but run for the excuse book when you try to take them up on the deal. I like Bunnings but that’s the main gripe I have with them, it’s just shonky.
I’d buy from Total Tools and support them if they have the unit at the same price as ST.
Not sure if you got it or not but check out my post below
The preferred choice of criminals everywhere…
$199 at Blackwoods WA, better hurry tho, 2 left. Add a pair of gloves to make it free delivery.
Or if you missed out and just want a skin, check out the nice price drop for the US import from Amazon for $158.
I have one of these, paid $120 for the skin only a while back, it's probably my favorite cordless tool, it's a beast, it has a good disc speed unlike the older Dewalt grinders… Quite battery hungry though, I wouldn't bother using less than a 4 or 5AH battery with it.. ..
I use it a lot for metal cutting/grinding, and also with one of these 60-tooth blades for cutting wood, aluminium, PVC, and odd tree pruning, lol
