    Was $64 LMAO.

This game has always been around $10 aud on cdkeys for like forever

    https://www.cdkeys.com/dirt-rally-2-0-game-of-the-year-editi…

    • +1

      RRP?

      • -3

What do you mean? Almost no game is ever sold at RRP on cdkeys. $10.99 is the normal price for this game

        • +1

RRP is probably $64.95. Just because cdkeys has it listed as $10.99 doesn't mean that is the RRP. Surely you understand this.

          • -4

@dreamstation: either you never buy PC games on the internet or you're an idiot or pretend to be one for the sake of arguing.

for example GTA 5 premium has been "on sale" on cdkeys for every single day for the last many years. Its RRP is $90+ but you can buy it any time for around $14.

The RRP is essentially a marketing gimmick so that they can put a 85% label on it to encourage sale. $14 is the normal price for GTA 5 premium.

Same thing here, this deal is a saving of $4 dollars, not $58 as what OP is implying in the title. Still good deal, but you can buy this any this game anytime for $11 even this deal does not exist is what I am saying.

This is not a $65 game that is now $7. This is a $11 game that is now $7.

            • +6

@canberrascooter: The grey market doesn’t determine a game’s value. It’s like saying Dirt Rally 2.0 is a free-to-play game because you can pirate it.

            • +5

@canberrascooter: Surely you are aware that CDKEYS is not an official reseller and you can get stolen keys, your key could be revoked etc.
You are not supporting the people who make the games.

              https://amp.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/2yhlw4/key_resel…

And there is no reason to be so aggressive just because someone else has a different opinion to you and makes a valid point. Dreamstation is right - just because something is on sale often does not make it the RRP or normal price. Think Nutrigrain or Nutella for example.

              • -3

@Lysander: bought over 20 games with cdkeys, never had an issue ever. they have unparallel reputation in the gaming community.

maybe you need to look at the definition of normal.

If something is sold at a certain price all the time, then that is the normal price, regardless what the MSRP or RRP is.

If cdkeys is not legit, how come we are able to list them on ozbargain?

                • -1

@canberrascooter: Please read the link. Plenty of people I know had issues with them, including myself when I bought from them before knowing they are not an official seller.
The do not have an unparalleled reputation in the gaming community but maybe with the people you associate with. There are plenty of problems with them for a significant number of people.
Maybe also have a look at the forums re HB gift links on Reddit - CDkeys et al. are the reason HB is coming down hard now.

Why are they allowed on Ozbargain? Good question, as they should not be. But I guess it is all about the bargain here, and nothing else.

Reddit does not allow them and that should tell you something given what else is on Reddit.

Of course, sites like Gamivo, Eneba etc are similar and are not official resellers coming with all the usual risks.

Look, you are wrong on this one - no good to keep arguing. The normal price is the non-sale price. Plus buying from dodgy sources cannot by definition count as the normal price. As otherwise, the normal price for all media, music, movies, and games would be $0 if you use illegal download sites on a daily basis as that will be "your normal".
There are some of us on here that would like to see the money go to the people who made the game and see them paid properly.

                  • +2

@Lysander: 99.9% of the gamers dont have issues with them. Cheap is cheap. If the key works on steam, then it must be a legit key, otherwise it would not have worked on steam or rockstar launcher etc.

                    • @canberrascooter: I sincerely hope you do not use this logic when it matters.
If I steal your card and then buy a Steam key which I sell on CDKeys, of course the key will work. It still does not change the facts it was stolen and because of that it can also be revoked later.
In fact I had two such keys revoked after a few months as the seller had sold stolen keys.
But it is okay if you keep yourself it is all above board. However, please do not tell others it is all fine.

Maybe read this article about how it hurts small developers:

                      https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-48908726

Also, here is some "fun stuff" about how unofficial resellers work, with an example being G2A.

                      https://checkpointgaming.net/features/2019/07/g2a-threat-or-…

                      https://www.channelnews.com.au/g2a-slammed-for-selling-stole…

To make things short: if you want devs to make great games and reward them for their work, buy from official sellers and do not get involved with unofficial resellers, often based in countries with little or no data protection for your payment and personal info.

    • This game had also been around forever… I swear I bought it back in 2011 or something

      • +7

That's a bit impossible since the release date of Dirty Rally 2.0 was in 2019. Even the original Dirt Rally was released in 2015. So it couldn't have been any of the Dirt Rally series games which you saw in 2011.

The only Dirt game which was released in 2011 was Dirt 3. That was the third installment of the original Dirt games. But it all began in 2007 with the original Dirt.

So yeah this game here has only been around for 2 years. Hardly for forever. So after 2 years and 2 months this game has been reduced to around $10 or under. Sounds about right.

        • You’re correct.. I got it in 2020…
I was actually thinking of ColinMcRae: Dirt 2 (2009).

It’s a bit easy to get them mixed up sometimes.

note: if you already have the base edition and want to upgrade to GOTY this won't work, but luckily fanatical also has the "Year One Pass" (aka the upgrade to GOTY) for $4.92 at the moment

    • Thanks mate, i was pissed off when seeing this deal because i have 2 copies of the base game (My 2 copies are from HB's so pretty much free anyway) and no GOTY content. I almost bought a 3rd copy at $7.09 until i saw this comment :)

  • +2

Great game, definitely worth it for $7

  • +3

This is a bloody great game. Makes me wish I had a proper racing setup with steering wheel etc.

I also wish you had the option for it to just give you a suggested set up for any given event. I love the driving but I hate dicking around with car setups in racing games. But I find this damn near impossible to get anywhere near winning if I don't go digging into all that stuff, and the whole time I'm doing it I just wish I was driving.

    • +1

Yeah i've also got the Steam version as well as the PS4 version. It's terrific. It's fun playing it on the PS4 Pro.

    • I only have a Xbone controller, and I seem to prefer 1.0
It seems like feedback is a big part of 2.0

  • I have a G29 and tried playing rally cross but found myself constantly spinning out at corners. I was using WRX maybe too much power.

    • Have a look for different wheel setups online. You may find it's better with a setup that lets you correct a little faster. In saying that I still have the same problem trying to be competitive in the RWD rallys

  • How does this compare to Forza 4 ultimate edition? For reference I play with the g29 and a controller occasionally

    • Very different. More realistic driving and unforgiving at times with challenging ai. It's much better than forza with the wheel. I spent ages setting up the g29 in Forza and find it's still far easier with controller.

  • Cheers OP, picked this up this morning and decided to splurge on the optional Mystery 2 Free Games Bundle for $2.85.

It should be noted that this comes with a Easter Eggstravaganza Mystery Coupon for free (regardless of if you buy the option mystery 2 games, like I did).
In my case it was a 7% Discount Code.

For a grand total of $9.94 I got the following:

Dirt Rally 2.0 , and a secondary key for the "Year One Pass"
    Grid
    Tinker Racers
Easter Eggstravaganza Mystery Coupon (7% Discount on a future purchase)

Seems like a good deal all up to me, but haven't tried anything yet, will download when I'm not having to tether internet from the phone.

  • +1

Any good deals on racing wheels at the moment?

  • +1

    Thanks OP

Bought this game expecting myself not to like it that much, but this game is absolutely thrilling, for the price this is a serious steal.
The only way I could describe this, is as getting forza horizon 4 for 7$.

    • For the people who bought this game, I highly recommend spending a few minutes in freeroam getting a feel for the game and setting up all the controls, then trying a few time trials to see how you go.

  • Good deal, just went to buy it and realised I'd already bought it (GOTY) already. Have to love these bargains you forget all about.
