  • Hope they don't get hammered and go bankrupt like Aussie Farmers!

  • Thanks for this reminder! My account credit is back up over $200, time to enable a delivery or two again!

    • I’m yet to receive any referral credits at all since having my account :(

      • +1

Is your account currently paused? You only earn them when your account is active, you can have weeks skipped.

        • It’s active. I’ve been paying for boxes, I actually really like the recipes. Would be so helpful to get a little money off he boxes as it so expensive. Lol.

          • @UndeclaredFreak: That’s so strange. I’ve got 1 and haven’t been active that long. Is your offer $70? Some are less

        • +1

I don't think you need an active subscription to get credits.

          • @Applause: You do, I referred someone and didn’t receive credit. I contacted hello fresh and they confirmed that was why.

It’s a bit misleading as the referral section still shows as valid when your subscription is paused.

            • @Ricketytruck: If that's the case then I think referrals should be changed to randomised private messages.

          • @Applause: I reckon you're correct. I just logged onto my deactivated account for the first time since end of Feb and it has some new referral credit there.

      • The reason is probably because your referral doesn't currently offer $70, so no one is clicking it.

Open up your referral in an incognito/private tab and check for yourself.

Nothing you can really do though.

  • Cheapest box is 3 meals for 2 people with 6 servings for $65.94 + $9.99 delivery. After credit you only pay the delivery fee of $9.99.

Can we know the menu or options before sign-up?

    • Yes. Some options will have additional fees although they don't seem to be shown on that page.

  • After signing up to this deal last time, I'll never go back to hello fresh again. Firstly, when signing up, it automatically ordered recipes for the next week, but I wanted recipes like 3 weeks down the track. I had an extended phone call just to change all this manually on the phone.

Secondly, when my food was delivered overnight, I noticed the holes on the sides of the box were punched out. When I unpacked my food onto the kitchen bench, a cockroach crawled out from the box.

Thirdly, unpacking the individual bags for the recipes, they got my order wrong. I tried calling straight away to rectify it, but they just said they would add credit for next time. After that experience, there was never going to be a next time.

Another hello fresh rep promised to call me to rectify, however, never did.

Granted, all I paid was delivery, but I definitely don't want to try them again.

I have has 5 deliveries and no problems. Also really enjoyed the food and learned new techniques.

      • +5

Same here, most of the food has been delicious.

    • There's a megathread for this purpose.

  • After paying for delivery, can you cancel the meal plan and still get it? I just want to cancel straight away and not after deliver

    • +1

Yes you cancel straight away and still get the order

  • +1

i cannot recommend them. do NOT sign up unless you're completely ok with HF storing your payment details, apparently, forever with no way to remove them even after you've "cancelled" your subscription (it's literally just suspending the sub not actually cancelling it).

i join HF last time and have spoken to countless CS agents asking them to remove my payment info since i've tried their food and want to cancel (joined in feb-ish). their food isn't great; some of my ingredients actually had mould on them (potatos and ginger, etc). not to mention other issues including terrible CS support. multiple agents have tiold me they can't remove my payment info because it's again 'policy'. what the heck policy is that?

take heed; even if the card or whatever has expired, HF will still continue to charge you even with payment issues. CS told me that HF were "generous" which is why they still charge you for thew box. so i was in debt and actually owed HF money for having payment issues which pretty much every other online merchant i know will refuse your order if there are payment issues. if there's any other stores/merchants that will still charge you, like HF, when there are payment issues, please let me know since i will avoid them.

    • I noticed there was an option to remove payment method in the app while the service was active. When the account is deactivated, there are no active payment methods visible. However with a deactivated account in plan settings on the website I see my card type and last 4 digits.

      • I tried that and thought it worked. I asked CS to make sure it was gone and the agent said that if you cancel the sub on the app, it only hides it. I don't know, it's so frustrating they keep your payment details when you're not going to order from them again

    • I've had a good experience with them food wise, what city are you located?

I absolutely hate that any website can store your payment info indefinitely, should be illegal. Had another website do this too, can't remember what exactly though.

      • Where are you from? I'm in melb and have had many bad experiences with them. Eg moldy food, wrong delivery address (someone/something changed it even thought my address was correct in my account details), they delivered to wrong address twice, etc.

Yep, I think it should be illegal if they keep your payment info. What's even worst is if the account gets reactivated and the card has expired, they will still charge for your order. It's BS.

  • How do you become a $70 referrer?

  • I ordered once. It never arrived. I found out after calling them they don't deliver here but they put the credit on my account from the free box. No emails or messages. Poor service.

    • But, you see, they generously gave you credit so you could order from them again just for them to not inform you that they don't deliver to your area and refund your credit.

Seriously though, what are you meant to do with their credit? And why did you vote up this post?

Was marked as expired but still looks to be working.

    • +1

I'm not sure why this deal keeps being reported and marked as expired even when $70 referral credits are available. Can someone clarify that? Maybe first referral is less than $70 but there is certainly $70 referrals in there.

  • Quick Q, for next week's delivery I am thinking to choose "Honey Chipotle Salmon" as one of the box (4 servings)
The serving amount in ingredients section it shows "2 packet - Salmon"
Does anyone know how much grams of Salmon is the one packet?

    • +1

probably better to ask support e.g. live chat

      • Confirmed with them its 280gms per serving. i.e for 4 serves it will be 1.12kg

  • thank you
