      Same. Got delivered yesterday :D

Anyone know if the Limited Edition steel book is still in stock anywhere?

    • +2

I found it on Amazon through a third party seller…for the bargain price of $530🤣
Try Ebay or Marketplace…probably your best bet. It will probably cost you $100 though.

  • It's $99 on PSN and I have a digital PS5 :(

    • +13

I mean, when you buy a digital console you shouldn't exactly expect the marketplace to be competitive…

      • +2

Yep, exactly why I bought the disc version.

      • +2

Yes, the perceived savings quickly evaporate once you see the prices they charge you for games on their store.

Look forward to an entire generation of paying $50-80 more than retail on each game you buy.

Occasionally you can get good deals on 3-5yr old games on the PSN seasonal/japan/holiday sales or Final Fantasy XV & FF7 Remake were both pretty heavily discounted on there only 6 months after launch but for the most part you will quickly lose any savings you bought not buying the disc version of the console.

On the upside you can still game share with a friend/family member that you trust by making each others console the primary for that account and then just going halves on any games you are both interested in. Disc version can do this too though.

        • FF7 remake is PS+ game of the month at the moment. FYI

          • @jerimiahhalls: Yep, they're desperate to get more people playing it so they can boast about how many players the original got when releasing part 2 of the remaster.

    • +1

Why would anyone buy a digital only console at this point in time?

    • +1

It's dropped to $56.97 on PSN today

    • +1

Good news for you - the price just dropped to $57 on PSN.

    • Spring sale starts this week so will likely be half off

Just paid $39 pre owned at EB yesterday. Save your dollars, this is OZB

  • +1

Historically cheapest price for this absolute masterpiece.
For all the Ghost of Tsushima vs The Last Of Us 2 GOTY brouhaha, the fact is that TLOU2 has been regularly available in deals for $30 and even $20, while this is the first time GoT has dropped below $50.
I find that fact quite telling.

    • +4

I just finished TLOU2, and although I can see why people hold GOT so highly, man it's a huge drop down in animation quality, cinematography, soundtrack, audio. It's an entirely different style game though, TLOU2 has guided routes that are painstakingly detailed, while GOT is open, has far less detail, tries to wow people with waving grass and falling leaves. I'm still enjoying it, but it's a very harsh fall coming from the finish and quality of TLOU2. I'm only about 4 hours in, perhaps the game changes entirely?

The reason TLOU2 is priced so low, is because of the crazy people reviews.

      • +3

Sure, the production polish in TLOU2 is second-to-none. But the 30 fps limit is clunky and jarring compared to the 4K60 smoothness in GoT (on PS5), and the gameplay in GoT (which is the important part) is much more playable for my tastes.

        • +9

Why do people constantly need to pit GoT against TLOU2? They're each their own games in their own rights with their own dev decisions and design/art/gameplay/story etc directions. Both are fantastic and enjoyable.

            • +1

@Gamer Dad Reviews: Nope. People like you are making it an 'issue' for views. It's a game. Enjoy it or not, subjective view. No one cares what the collective hivemind scores are.

General consensus is that Watch Dogs Legion is rubbish. However, I throughly enjoyed it as a game and one of the very few platinums achieved.

People love the circlejerk about Cyberpunk 2077 and it certainly has issues and crashes but played it through fine and completed all story endings. It was quite enjoyable 50'odd hours.

Conversely Miles Morales is heavily raved about yet I couldn't get into it at all and found it too cringe.

Everyone's different. To each their own.

            • +1

@Gamer Dad Reviews: Animal Crossing NH has a MC of 90 and user score of 5.5.

This qualifies as well as the other 2 examples??

I'm currently playing GOT 4k60 and haven't noticed a thing. Each to their own though, if you prefer open world samurai games, you can't really compare them can you? I mean so far the animations, voices, controls, and camera is clunky in GOT, even sliding through gaps or opening the little air vents in houses, so clunky and the animations are super basic. Even during the training when you spar with your uncle under a tree with falling red leaves, it goes from beautiful cutscene, to janky/clunky interactive. I also find regularly my camera gets in the way, something I haven't experienced in a game in a long time.

You really can't compare them though, very different games. One is very gamey, the other is an experience

    • Most important questions you have to ask yourself are:

      • Does part II has multiplayer like GOT?
      • Does GOT received the same backlash like part II did?
      • Does Part II received an upgrade like GOT?

If any (or all) of your answers are No, you can see why part II has a lower price than GOT.

There is the fact that Part II is probably well ahead of GOT in terms of sales.

And also, price has nothing to do with the quality of the game, GOW is an example.

I have both games, but is clear which one is more polished than the other.

  • Awesome been waiting for this, shame I have $100 in psn cards laying about though.

      • Doh, that's ok. My disc version arrived today. I hate the lack of wishlists in the App. I don't bother to check anymore unless I'm prompted by sites like this.
