Are They AirPods Pro Refurbished?

I bought the Airpods Pro under Afterpay day on Ebay a week ago https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/611623 . Today when I received it, open the box and check serial number on Apple website https://checkcoverage.apple.com/au/en/ and the result I get
"Your product is covered for eligible hardware repairs and service under Apple’s Limited Warranty.
Estimated Expiration Date: December 22, 2021" It has only 9 months warranty
The question is ? did they send me the refurbished???and can I return when I pay with Afterpay???

    Was the box factory sealed with the fancy apple easy open tab packaging?

    They should not show December on the warranty status, likely someone has already paired them to an iPhone which has started the warranty.

    You did pay almost half the retail price so this is likely the catch however I would be returning them as secondhand headphones is gross.

      If the product is listed as brand new, then the buyer should be receiving a brand new product.
      Please don't make lame excuses like it was half price, and so the seller is entitled to sell an opened box product.

        I didn’t make any excuses, I said that was likely the catch and that I would also be asking for a refund as it is not as described.

    I bought 2 AirPods Pro one from Xtreme.online (mentioned as Au stock but in real it was Canadian)
    Second one from mobileciti same lie it was Malaysian stock not AU stock. Both were purchased at least 3-4 months before as per apple purchase dates. But I am fine with both since price was significantly low but pure BS! Au stock lie.

    Thanks for the advice and comment. I decided to return the airpod. I buy the bargain one, not the refurbished one.

    Brand new, sealed
    Apple says warranty February 5, 2022
    Good enough for me
    Not sure I would buy off a ninja on ebay
