Be careful with this company. Last time they had a sale they sent out expired beer to everyone and then tried to blame it on some email they sent out that we should have known about.

Then they tried to sell me that the IPA they sent me had a best before that was a guide and that they think the beer would be good for another "18 months" and "Heavily hopped beers see some flavour drop between 6-18 months from pack but its not a dramatic change generally" which is a load of bullshit considering hops distinctly degrade over time, so the hoppier the beer, the more it is prone to lose its flavour integrity.

Anyway I'll be avoiding this so called "ethical" brewing company but up to you.

      That's hilarious.

Their whole shtick is that they're amazing and generous people, yet they sell overpriced and expired beer to unsuspecting customers and then bullshit about it.

    • Hi Caramellokoala,

Please accept our profound apologies for your disappointing experience.

We realized there was gross mismanagement with warehousing and dispatch in the promotion. We still do not understand what transpired, and we’re still in the process of investigating.

We are nothing but deeply aware of the responsibility we have. The notion of low-code is one that hospitality truly understands. While this does not redress our error, we provided every single person a full refund that came back to us with low-code stock with the offer of a fresh case of Pale Ale as an apology.

If this was not the case, we ask you to please email [email protected] directly.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience here.

“ PLEASE NOTE: Our Black IPA is nearing its best before, however, our product team has been regularly testing and can still guarantee their drinkability and deliciousness.”

Just be aware. An IPA is still ‘drinkable’ long after it’s packaged but is it still an IPA? Maybe it’s a strong ale after some time. You really want to drink them fresh.

that's the problem with these hop driven beers their flavour profile changes quite noticeably over the months.

Of course if they left the yeast in to bottle condition like Coopers, they wouldn't need a Best Before Date and solve their marketing problem.

      • Yeah but you can’t leave hops in the can.

    • Their red ale has the same note

  • PRICE in title

  • Shipping free is 20. Pilsners are 3.5%. Nah!

  • The Pilsner and Pale from the last order were well past good drinking - but no really unpleasant flavours - I still drank them with really spicy food.

The Black IPA & Red Ale were Ok and might be good beers when fresh.

But you would better off with the cheap craft beer imitation ranges in
    Dan Murphy etc.

And it is just false advertising portraying yourself as a craft brewery
and shipping out old stale beer - marketing themselves as ethical is a joke

    • I re-sent email to [email protected] as above and Sparkke
have now refunded my last order and are sending a case of Pale.

  • Cant agree more with everyones comments. Just a dodgy company offloading out of date stock & not being honest about it. Only makes you think that the rest of their 'do good' claims are false & are a scam. If they have that much out of date stock:
    A. They have poor stock management in place.
    B. Their product isnt the best product in the 1st place so doesnt move off the shelf.
Theres certainly something wrong here & being dodgy is not the way to fix it…. at least this time they have indicated that one of the beers is nearing its best before date but as 2 types were past date, 1 just within & 1 which mysteriously only had a partial stamp where no date was issued, best just go to Dans & buy something else

  • OP, I just looked at the website and it appears your table should show 4-pack not 6-pack.
