Other sellers:
Shallothead
Futuonline
Seems significantly cheaper at $116 compared to around $140 previously. I think the 4TB IronWolf models are 5900 RPM vs the 6TB+ range at 7200RPM.
According to Seagate these are all CMR drives: link

Also $236 for the 8tb from shallothead, seems decent
*Ah just saw deal posted for it heh
Same seller, different trading name.
Thanks!
CMR better than SMR!
I ordered 2 x 4TB RED drives yesterday for $122ea if anyone prefers WD.
No thanks - due to their SMR shenanigans
You prefer the Seagate high failure rates?
Wasn’t that just one 6TB drive that they got absolutely reamed for and stopped doing, especially in RED drives?
Nope, Reds have moved to SMR, Red Plus and Pro are non SMR

@bdl: Wow that’s shit. The ones I ordered are CMR thank f***
Purchased two of these from Shallothead (they're all the same company anyway) and they arrived the next day with Ebay Plus :)
is 5900rpm quiet enough with 3+ drives?
would this just be good for video games? occasional video storage? are these things noisey?
wont be my boot drive, a SSD will. Just dont really want to build a NAS, would rather just have it in my PC if that doesnt cause problems.
I have one of these on the way. Represent MUCH better vfm compared to the seagate external at under $100.
