  • That’s pretty good, very tempted. I’m hanging out for a redesign but this might be hard to go past

    Great price.

I'm still rocking my SS S4 and doesn't miss a beat. The processor is the same speed as the S5 and only very slightly slower than the S6. It's got a lot of life still in it!

  • If one still had the 15% off catch cards as well to stack…..

    This would be epic…

  • Where was this 18 months ago when I smashed my series 4 and had to fork out $750 for a newly released model!

(admittedly, I've grown to love the always-on display)

    • Interesting. I was wondering if the always on face was good. I’m still on a 4.

  • That is a lot of watch for the price. I think I would look at the SE as an option first. This is two behind the current version. The thing to keep in mind is when they stop doing the iOS update for this.

    • Apple are still selling the series 3. The 4 has significant features that the SE doesn’t.

The S4 is better in practically every way than the SE.

Same speed processor (S4 and S5 are the same speed). This S4 has stainless steel, sapphire glass, ECG (should be coming to Australia soon).

      • The Samsung smart watches are launching their ECG now. I sold my watch S4 2 year ago and now the function is still not approved by the government..

        • +2

It was approved by the TGA about a week ago and is expected to be rolled out with the new watchOS/iOS within the month. Finally!

      • You will still run out of IOS upgrades before the SE. Which was my point. Just something people need to factor in when making a decision. We had to ditch our iPhone 6 phones, when we bought our watches, because the phones couldn’t go to the latest iOS.

        • I wouldn't be so sure. Apple tends to drop support on products with the same performance at the same time, despite when they were released.

The S4 isn't really much slower than the brand new S6. It is identical to the S5 of last year.

They still sell the S3, so it's a safe bet than the S4 will get updates for some time.

          • @loksmack: I’m just raising the point. Only time will tell. I think this S4 is a lot of bang for buck. The S4 is not identical to the S5. Similar but not the same, particularly with memory. The SE, also, has double the memory.

            • @try2bhelpful: It is identical when it comes to performance. Look up some benchmarks, there is 0 difference.

Yes the onboard storage (not memory/ram) is halved, but I don’t think that is much of a concern myself.

              • @loksmack: It limits what you can use it for. My man has the Apple Watch 3 and he is having difficulties with the upgrades. I’m just pointing things out, it is up to people to make up their own minds.

      • do you know if series 6 has sapphire glass on all ?

is this a better value than the ebay afterpay series 6 deal posted here ?

        thanks

        • +1

Update: Apple tells us that the Series 6 aluminum version uses Ion-X glass, while the stainless steel and titanium versions use a sapphire crystal. All models have a ceramic and sapphire crystal back.

          Mentioned in SlashGear.

  • Does ECG work now?

  • is this better value than ebay series 6 deal ?

    • +1

It looks more premium and durable. If you are not look at the new features on series 6, then yes S4 is the best

  • Seems like a good deal but most likely grey stock unfortunately

    • catch sells grey like kogan ?

the ebay s6 O/S grey stock , OP confirmed warranty covered by apple

    • The warranty for the apple watch is covered globally. Confirmed by an Apple staff
