1-day has four aluminium (better than stainless) bottles and a carry pack for 9.99! When 1-day has a better deal than your site, thats when you should really start to worry.

How is aluminium better than stainless?

      • -1

For the sake of my argument its better. But in reality it probably is just the same but lighter haha.

I'm going to remember this defense the next time I get into an argument.

According to mindfuleatsDOTcom, stainless is better than aluminum, what's your source????

      • +1

Good ref point ebcow, with SS it depends on how well it is made - some do 18/8 and some do 18/0, obviously 18/0 is subject to rust. In general they say stainless steel is safer than aluminium however 1-day item states it is BPA-free, so it should be ok. But users will have to be careful not to scratch the lining or else aluminum will leach into the water and this can be bad. I think I will stick to SS just to be on the safe side, but the 1-day deal looks very appealing :-)

Apple vs Oranges here? Aluminium bottles are generally lined especially the cheap cheap ones.

      • After.

        • Cheers. There is now a 'Free Shipping' option on that same screen if you like to try again.

Link does not direct to product…

    • Only until 1pm today or until sold out!

  • I would go Stainless Steel every time, given the choice between steel and aluminium.

I would go Stainless Steel every time, given the choice between steel and aluminium.

depends. Aluminium is better for hiking/camping as it is lighter and tougher (SS needs welding normally).
But PET is good too, as used in soft-drink bottles.

I don't like the scaremongering tactics used by the rep. Doesn't stainless steel contain 10% chromium, which can be toxic and an environmental hazard?

      • +2

Scaremongering? I only said aluminium bottles are lined compared to SS in one comment. There are some great aluminium bottles (we'll stock them too in the future) just like there are great SS and plastic ones.

        • -1

          Scaremongering?

Yes, "No Toxic Chemicals" is attempting to sow fear.

        • And that is simply a statement that represents this bottle. Don't see how it applies to anything else because it doesn't. You obviously have misinterpreted a simple product description (not a comment on other bottles). Because yes, in reality some bottles do have them and we need to assure buyers THIS bottle doesn't have them. Is stating that it is BPA free also scaremongering?

  • What about the other style bottles that you had previously without the Aussie flag?
