Is the general consensus still that Ikea Ladda's are rebranded Eneloop Pro's? If so, still cheaper: https://www.ikea.com/au/en/cat/batteries-battery-chargers-41…

Edit: Assuming you don't need the free shipping if you have Club Catch.

Remember that Eneloop Pro's are rated for 500 charge cycles, where as the non-pros are rated at 2000. For me the non-pros are better value for money, especially if I put them in devices that aren't replaced too often anyway.

Lower mHa rating on the non-pros though (15% or so i think)

      • +5

I highly doubt that many eneloop users would even get close to 500 charge cycles over the lifetime of the batteries, let alone 2000. For me, that’s not even a consideration. YMMV of course depending on your use cases

      • +1

IKEA also have a cheaper lower capacity range that are rated at much higher cycles

  • Eneloops for $19.12 or Aldi's $9.99 for 8pcs AAs for kids toys?

    • +1

Aldi are awful at holding charge after few months of use. Fully charged then stored in box for few weeks no charge left. I regret getting it. not isolated, i bought alot, include those fancy glitter one, same thing.

      • +1

true for me as well, for me they cudnt hold any charge brand new out of the box

    • -3

Aldi for sure. Charging the batteries every 2 months vs maybe 4 months doesn't make much of a difference in real life. Also, you'd lose them quite often in kid's toys. Source - I'm a dad.

  • 8x AAA is $21.75
    How to get $16.31?

    • +2

Same with 8xAA. They show up at $25 for me.

      • +2

        $25.50

    • +1

Apologies, I'm sure that's what they showed me when I posted but it must've updated (or it's a massive typo on my part). Will update now.

  • Damn it, bought the AAA for $14 last week. But it is ok as I paid with Afterpay with $30 disc.

    • Damm me too got AAA - $100 worth. 3x8 packs.

      • (profanity) me too…
        bought 2 weeks ago 2XAAA & 1XAA… almost $100

and I am now buying again to dilute a bit…

        • Same, I bought AA's

  • +2

i still miss the coles rechargeable battery, surprised it's all gone in a hurry

  • +4

Why would I want 25% of an eneloop battery? You need the whole thing.

    • if you buy 4 you should get 100% of one

    • I hope you get charged for that comment

  • Can anyone enlighten me, why we buy the pro version as it has only up to 500 charges compared to 2100 charges for the normal one ?

    • More power more ooompfh

      • Yep, good for things like camera flashes and motors with high power draw.

  • +1

500 charges is still a lot. I change battery and recharge in kids toy about once a month with the pro… That is 41 years to get to my 500 charges

    • have you tried to compare Eneloops with Eneloop Pros in kids toys?

      • +1

Yup, the plus are significantly better, last longer and stronger… I.e. trains move faster, lights are brighter.

    • If you use it for solar light, it will be a different story. It will only last less than 2 years compared to less than 6 years

  • I'm curious what people use to recharge these…I still use the non-rechargeable batteries but am looking at upgrading…

    • +1

      I use eneloop charger

      • +1

Same, i started using rechargeable batteries a while ago with the default eneloop charger (with an Us plug, sadly). Don't change them too often as i use them in some smal appliances, but it does save some money in the long run. I also bought a big pack of disposable AA batteries form Kmart for really cheap, but whenever i throw one out after it's been depleted I feel pretty bad, so i'm trying to switch to 100% rechargeable.

        • Good on ya. Also looking to do the same with rechargeable

      nitecore d4. Never looked back.

      • Same. I don't like charging in pairs because I often use them individually and don't really know the charge state of each cell.

      • Any dif between d4 and i4?

        • +1

I think they're basically the same except the D4 has an LCD screen to give more detailed feedback of battery condition.

    • XTAR VC4

  • +1

Ikea Laddas are rebadged Eneloops Pro just get them

  • Can I ask my fellow oz bargainers what the hell you use batteries for. I tried to follow you guys and now have so many spares lying around and I dont think I have recharged any yet since new ones keep coming in.

    • +1

Remote control, mouse, keyboard, portable lighting, etc

    • Camera flashes, game controller, weighing scales, portable signage, blood pressure monitor, remotes

    • Presentation Laser pointer, remotes (aircon, TV, etc.) , mouse, kids toys

  • Guys, if you can afford to wait. Wait for the camera house / binglee /Amazon 50% sale on eneloops. The sale comes every 4-5 months. Roughly speaking don't spend more than $4.50/eneloop

Be prepared to be patient though, even when you jump on the deal for camera house, it'll take them another month to fulfil the order

  • What charger are people using for these batteries?

  • Isn't 4xAA Pro for $18 is a standard sale price ? From history, it was cheaper somewhere else?
