Camera Recommendation for under 1K

Hi All
My wife and I both own Apple XR and we are not happy with the pictures it clicks.
My wife has been nagging to get a new cam, I have my Nikon D5100 [~10 year old] which is just too bulky and mechanical for clicking and transferring to phones for usage and all…

Looking for recommendations for a compact camera under 1000$, which is easy to use [automated with no external lenses] and can be linked to an iPhone for pics to be pushed to our apple cloud storage.

      He has a Nikon D5100. almost same thing with that AF-P lens support.

    I would recommend you get a 12 pro or max, you will get 3 lenses and the connectivity and integration you want.

        iPhone 11 camera is excellent and can be purchased for under $1000. Obviously won’t be as good as a $1000 camera though

          The footage straight out of camera (especially if you don't know how to manual focus a lens or other things) I would argue would be worse than from a phone.

    what are the lenses you have for D5100? get a used AF-S 35mm/f1.8 and don't remove it from the camera, would be better than any phone in the market lol

    If your purpose is to transfer images to phone and share on social media, nothing is better than an iPhone and the image quality is good enough.
    Otherwise you may want to check out these cameras with APS-C sensor which will produce far better images than any phones (not sure about the price range atm)
