  • Should probably mention that you need to be on Foursquare for this. Not a bad deal if the beer's ok (I haven't tried it yet).

    • The Beer's actually nice, according to me that is. If you like Pure Blonde, then you'll like this. I misread what I copied, will edit.

Pretty average four square deal this month, if you went back twice you would get a case for $36 versus the normal case price of $42, buy 1 get 1 free would have been better!

Agreed its average, but it's still a saving and better than the previous 2 months of deals.

  • don't think this has anything to do with VB?

    • Made by the same company, and same shaped stubby. But VB doesn't seem like it's right, it's not Vic Bitter, it's VPA…

      • Actually it's VPL, it's a larger not an ale.

        • Good point, that's what I meant. Long day in the sun ;)

  • If you have tried this awful beer then you will realize that the only deal here is to buy it and use it as cement cleaner. Ugh!

    • It's nothing like VB, but I know plenty who like it. What do you usually drink?

      • I'll try this on its own, but comparing it to pure blonde puts me off it as both myself and a friend don't care for it!

        • +3

I can't believe pure blonde is used as a benchmark for beer these days /beerjerk

I know this all comes down to each and their own but I still reckon nothing beats -http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/61010

And the specials occur on a weekly basis as well. God bless GWD!

Decent drop and the bevelled bottle and colour makes it feel like youre drinking from a hand grenade

  • Nothing like pure blonde or VB. It's not a bad beer and similar to coopers pale only slithly crisper

  • hmmmm….. that's unfortunate…. been hanging for the next foursqare deal, but this is not one I was hoping for….

To me, this beer tastes like it has already been through someone……

This beer is easy to drink and suitable for a drink on a warm day. I'd describe it as a Corona with slightly more character and breadth.

Probably going to be disregarded by beer snobs, but for $18, worth a crack.

  • Better than is to be expected from a company like CUB (Fosters-now-SAB Miller).

Very European lager aroma on the nose. Czech Saaz Hops I've been told.
A bit of sweetness from the 100% malt they appear to have used.
Crisp watery mouthfeel, standard for all CUB beers from the yeast they use.
Throw in some pepper from the Aussie standard Pride of Ringwood Hops.

    I actually don't mind it.

    • They are not calling this an innovation are they? Ha ha.
More like a move to a mass produced euro lager style beer but keeping the aussie bittering hops.

  • thanks
