I was searching for a good deal on 10x50 binoculars, and found this on Amazon (from Amazon US).

This is the new version (PWV1050), which seems to have some improvements when compared to the first version (131056). I don't know much about binoculars, so won't get into details I don't understand. I'm sure other users might be able to help with other questions, if they want.

Official page:
1st version
2nd version

Also available:
10x25 $46.50
10x42 $115.27
12x50 $97.08
16x32 $58.07
20x50 $113.20

I haven't checked all the options, but the price of the Powerview 2 10x50 on Bushnell US website is USD 64.99, which is AUD 83.72 right now.

The first version is on TED's for AUD 109.95 (you can get a $10 discount if you become a ClubTED member).

TED's has a nice guide too.

    2 Binoculars 10x50 $89.09

    $45 each is a pretty good price…

      🙄

      That's not "2x Bushnell Powerview 2"

    • +1

I think he meant two as in "a pair of binoculars" just like a pair of glasses which is still one object, a pair of scissors, tongs, pliers, socks (for two feet).

  • will i be able to clearly see in the windows of the house across the road with these?

    • +2

only when the men are getting changed. when the women start to undress they instantly fog up.

  • Good for astronomy? Watching moon n planets?
Was thinking about a telescope, but Ted Says, it’s good

    • Does Ted suggest any products that it sells are bad? Lol
It's ok for looking at large bodies such as the moon and the sun (but never do so without filters - you will go blind). But not so good for other celestial bodies, esp planets. Magnification is way too small to see anything recognisable.

  • Celestron UpClose G2 10x50 have been around $41 and are pretty good. Very bright view.

    • Can you link it here please. Can't find it for that price. Thanks!

Have you typed "CELESTRON Upclose G2 10x50"?

        November 2020…

        • Oh I thought it is on sale somewhere right now. Have been looking at google to no avail because I skipped the "Have been around". I should be sleeping. Thanks for the link.

  • Are these good "first time" binoculars for general use?

  • +1

Yes,and this is my preferred size for wildlife watching (birds, animals).Any bigger and your eyes tire too quickly.I've had my Carl Zeiss 10x50 for 30 years and travelled around African Game Parks for two years with them …. these Bushnells are good value too IMHO.

  • what's the difference between this one and this 20x50?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Bushnell-Pacifica-Super-High-Power…

    • The 10 and the 20?

Read previous comments and the link from Ted's to understand what the numbers mean… You might need a tripod to use more than 10.

    • Double the magnification but not the objective lens diameter creates an image that is much darker. Magnification strength means it will be much harder to view without stabilisation (such as a tripod). These also have very poor reviews.

  • Just an update… Obviously, Aramex/Fastway managed to screw up, as they usually do:

    25/3
    Overweight/Oversize parcel
Either the size or weight of your parcel exceeds the maximum allowance. The depot will be in contact with the sender.

    26/3
    Undel Processing
Unfortunately there was an issue delivering your parcel and it is now being held at our 'Melbourne' depot. Please contact your local depot to resolve this issue.

It is impossible to contact this company… They don't answer the phone, don't reply to e-mail tickets, then they offer Whatsapp, but don't answer there either… Completely useless! It's always frustrating having to deal with Fastway…

Amazon said they are aware of problems with this particular courier, and are working on a solution, but they said the same 12 months ago when another parcel was missing, and delivered 3 weeks after the first "out for delivery" notification on their equally useless tracking system…

I guess I will have to find a local deal to buy binoculars… :/
