This is my first post here. I have tried this coffee and its comparable to Vittoria and Lavazza coffee beans available at Woolies and Coles. The pack is almost 1 kg and beats the usual prices when Woolies and Coles have Vittoria or Harris coffee on sale. It is not marked as "ON SALE" but I noticed that other coffees like Colombian are selling for twice the price.

wow that's cheap for coffee, not sure about the taste though, have never tried it.
At that price you'd have to at least give it a go!
Gimme a break, how are these beans supposedly any less ethical than ANY other non-fairtrade or rainforest certified blend you would get from ANY OTHER supermarket??? I'm sorry, does Coles or Woolies or their intermediaries not getting 99.999% of the profit whilst the farmer still gets exactly the same pittance from $7 coffee beans instead of $17 beans upset you?
Don't get me started on the hypocrisy of both of those two certifications either. As soon as someone throws them in my face I know they've been greenwashed!
Plus, these Costco beans are flavoured with real orangutan; you just can't get tastier than that!!! :p
Comparable to Vittoria and Lavazza beans from Woolies or Coles = bad and stale.
they will be very stale beans but considering 70% of the cafes in my local shopping centre use the same sort of junk it will be tolerable, and certainly better than instant.
This is for peeps that purchase their espresso beans from supermarkets not those that roast their own beans or have a supplier to roasts them daily.. http://coffeesnobs.com.au/
+1 this deal because for supermarket beans it's CHEAP!
An amazing resemblance between coffee snobs and audiophiles.
edit: that was meant to be a response to the guy complaining about supermarket coffee.
I find it quite fresh enough, at least when first opened. Would try Costco if we had one here.An amazing resemblance between coffee snobs and audiophiles.
Hell yeah, and the funniest part is that very few would actually have the palate to discern a difference; the majority of them really are just wearing the Emporer's New Clothes! ;)
Audiophiles are in a world of their own on the Absolute Bonkers scale.
Take this for example:

A HDMI cable being sold for US$1095.99. No, that's not a mistake. The rest of the range (from ethernet to audio cables) costs just as much. I love the mocking reviews.
Denon will happily sell you an ethernet cable for US$499.
Was going to say probably not a bargain as it isn't lavazza however it seems amazon has this for around $22 - http://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Signature-House-Coffee-Starbu…
So possibly a bargain!
Though I have to disagree with the sentiment that it is comparable to other coffee as that is quite subjective - all coffee could taste the same to an individual!
Correct. My wife believes that Nespresso and the best single origin Ethiopian Harar/Mocha taste about the same!!!
These beans actually taste ok when they are ground fresh. I purchased a bag when Costco first opened at Auburn and I'm sure they were priced around the $13-$15 mark, so this is a bargain. As long as I am grinding my own beans daily and using my own half-decent coffee machine I can get a great tasting coffee that is always several times better than most cafes…and at this price I will vote up :)
Common guys, they are 100% Arabica Beans and should be better than Nescafe and at $6.97 is even cheaper than instant coffees.
they are 100% Arabica
Normal. 80% of the coffee in the world is Arabica, the remainder Robusta which " is also often included in instant coffee, and in espresso blends to promote the formation of crema" - wikipedia.
What's the expiry date on it?
March 2012 at Melbourne Costco.
Did you happen to see when it was roasted?
