[XB1, PS4] 100% Refund for All Digital Purchases of Cyberpunk 2077 @ Microsoft and @ PlayStation Store

Moved to Forum: Original Link
Reason: Refund Policies / Satisfaction Guarantees are not bargains

(Edit) Note: this post is not meant as criticism or praise for the game, I haven't played the game myself, so this is purely for information purposes.

Cyberpunk 2077 refund policy at Microsoft

We know the developers at CD Projekt Red have worked hard to ship Cyberpunk in challenging circumstances. However, we also realize that some players have been unhappy with the experience on older consoles. To ensure that every player is able to get the experience they expect on Xbox, we’re expanding our existing refund policy to offer full refunds to anyone who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 digitally from the Microsoft Store, until further notice. To request an Xbox refund, follow the steps on our Xbox refund page.

Interesting articles about refunds from other stores/platforms (eg Steam, GOG, Epic, Humble, CD Projekt Red)

but note there may be restrictions such as getting a refund within 30 or 60 days of purchase from these other platforms

Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be remembered in history, and not for the best of reasons.

  • wish I could get a refund from GOG

  • Is it still broken?

I love cyberpunk, and generally don't like SciFi. The caveat is that old gen is not a great experience. I've spent over 50 hours and still have lots to do on the ps5. The graphics and world quality is impeccable. Some stories are naff, and there are many typos and small glitches, but the ambition of what the devs were trying to achieve should be applauded. Some story arks are really great too with different characters throughout the game. I think the biggest issue is that the devs had way too much ambition (understatement). They mentioned the challenges of the various systems to name an example.

In any case, I love the game!

I played for 10 hours on the ps5 before I stopped. Not because I didn't enjoy the game, just because I felt like what I was playing was incomplete.

Between the awesome stuff, little things like the lack of NPC interaction, the stupid wanted system and lack of dynamic gang / turf mechanic turned me off.

They are all things I am hoping will be patched and improved.

I look forward to trying it again later this year.

      • You can focus on the storyline missions and completing all endings without that side stuff bothering you too much. It was a fun ride.

Yea, I was hoping it was more than a narative driven RPG. The outer worlds does the whole narative Sci Fi thing better IMO.

I was hoping night city was something immersive, where I could get lost in the dynamics outside of the main storyline.

          • @malich: Outer Worlds is a great RPG.

I felt that the story was a bit on the short side (although I managed to squeeze many more hours out of this game than most other games by doing all the side quests and exploring all the alternative plots).

But I think it's reasonable, considering that developers had to program all the different scenarios, many of which players never see unless they play through the various dialogue options/choices.

It was one of the better games I played recently (and it's on Game Pass so I got to play it for "free").

I never played Cyberpunk 2077 because I thought it would be such an awesome game, with lots of dialogue choices which would alter the game outcomes, so I planned to set aside a fair bit of time to it.

Lucky I didn't rush to play it straight away, but I think it will be a great game once the developers "finish" it.
