Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master Motherboard $299 + Delivery @ PCCG

80

Honestly for the price, you cant beat it, if you want to OC your 3000 or 5000 series CPUs to the max, the VRMs on this Motherboard are Flasgship on the B550 Line of Motherboards.

'honestly' - meaningless word these days

Especially when you're paying $150 to usually get 5% more performance (assuming RAM timings are the same) unless you want to invest yet more in cooling and ludicrous energy requirements.

Performance CPU and GPU overclocking for squeezing more out of a budget is mostly dead, this stuff is now a hobby now to get towards the top of charts.

Best VRM's of any AM4 board along with the x570 Aurous Master
Also has 3 x M.2 slots, which no other b550 board has.

It's better than any other board you can get at this price, including x570's.

Board does have a few compromises compared to say the B550 taichi, but they're minor enough that I can't remember off the top of my head

    • Yes, and when one of those other 2 M.2 slots has an nvme installed the pcie lane to the graphics card is cut from x16 to x8 (the other x8 is divided into two, one for each nvme giving it x4 pcie 4.0 speeds at maximum possible)

This is because the extra nvme slots are tied in to the cpu lanes, rather than going through the chipset.

  • This is the board i want. But.. Usb issues.

Considering skipping ryzen 5600.entirely due to these issues. I can't afford anther unstable pos that might corrupt my data.

    • I've got the x570 Aurous Master rev1.2 and no issues at all. It's great and prob the best mobo I've ever had.

        how's the chipset fan noise?

        • During boot it ramps up to 100% for like 2 seconds to blow dust off/self cleaning and apart from that I can't hear it. I have a phanteks P500A case which is quite open and still can't hear it.

I have this exact board paired with 5900X and have no issues.

  • If the USB issue doesn't get you, the random realtek 2.5G chip ethernet dropouts will probably will… Tried different settings today after latest driver worked for 3 days and dropped out sigh

    Not impressed.

  • Can anyone recommend an equivalent in the Mini ITX mobo version for Ryzen?
