  • how loud is it?

  • How much electricity would this thing consume?

      Watt?

    • Should be less then a kettle since you can heat for a single cup vs min 2cups of a kettle I think

      • Based on the description, will the machine keep the water at a certain temperature the whole time? Because that will be huge i'd imagine.

        • +1

nah i think the water is cold on idle

          • +1

@SS625: The water is cold on idle and heats up rapidly depending on the selected temperature. The process goes from unlock, led lights up and select the appropriate temperature before water dispenses.

We used one ourselves at work.

        • +1

No that would be a urn. This is instant using some type of thermoblock/coil allowing for rapid heat across larger surface contact. Same tech in a coffee machine

          • @DoesntEvenMatter: Yeah but don't thermoblocks and stuff still have a general idle power usage to keep that part of it heated up?

            • @dufflover: It wont be heated up on standby at all. Won't be heating anything unless there is a flow of water happening. Some coffee machine has a boiler with a thermocoil around it which has it heating both and that would be true to your question. These instant ones do not. Plus is hot water really quick being energy efficient, negative is temp control isn't the best and potential shorter life spans from leaks and scale

        • I have a similar instant water dispenser by viomi. The water only get heated when dispensing providing you selected the heated temperature. Very convenient for a 1-2 person household, for larger household you will need to refill the tank pretty often.

    • Very minimal as it does not keep the water warm constantly.

  • as usual, shipping kills the deal

  • Good for instant cup ramen hhah

You can choose the amount of water you want, you can drink as much as you want

I'm glad that this product doesn't dictate how much water I'm allowed to drink, unlike my kettle which cuts me off when it thinks I've had too much! (I've only had 2 cups, I swear! You're a power-hungry a-hole! I'm totally sober, just give us one more cup, mate!)

Rep, how accurate are the temps?

This review (poorly written) seems to say that the temp setting is not very accurate:

  • Does this have an Australian plug?

    • Yes. All products we sell will be Australian plug compatible. If not eg European standard, then adapters will be provided.

      • Those statements are contradictory. Does it have an Australian plug, or is an adapter necessary?

        • +1

OP means it will fit into Australian wall socket if it has AU plug. I highly doubt this product will have Aussie plug but it could if it's Chinese, since Chinese plugs are upside down Aussie ones I think.

        • The answer is no.

Most of these appliances are not made for the Australian market; hence you don't see them in your bricks & mortar store or Oz based websites.

Likely they will give you a adapter but warranty will be a pain most times.

        • Just picked one up, does have AU plug (doesn't need adapter)

  • How does it control the amount of water being sent out? I cannot tell from the button arrangement.

    • Press and hold?

      • +1

"The water dispenser can choose the amount of water, about 250ml for small cups and about 500ml for large cups."

I was hoping it will autostop

        • +2

When you short press the desired button water stops after 250ml is dispensed, if you press and hold the button water keeps coming out continuosly. You will have to press the button again to stop.

  • I bought one an year ago from AliExpress. It came with AUS plug as standard. Doesn't take up too much space. Nice and quite. Very handy to make a cup of tea or coffee. We also use it to drink warm water in winter (45 degrees). Auto locks after 30 seconds when not in use.

One thing I have noticed is that it is tempermental. Some times it stops working and all the lights start blinking. Have to unplug, wait for a minute and plug it back, it starts working again. Can't find much information on the fault in the manual.

    • Do you have an accurate thermometer? Any chance you could test the temp at the various output temps?

      • I never checked temperature of the water. Sorry, I don't have a thermometer to check the accurate temperature.

  • Bought this and picked up an hour later at Rydalmere. Can confirm its AU plug.
Staff was also very friendly and helpful.

I tried a similar one from Harvey Norman and I found a design issue with these devices. The water may be boiling once it leaves the spout but these are (generally) so slow to dispense water that by the time you have a full cup it’s closer to 75° than 100°.
As an example, my kettle is 2200w, it can boil 1l of water as fast as any electric kettle. Even if this device takes the same time to boil 1l of water, much of that water will be a lot cooler than 100° because it was dispensed at different times.
Simply, 1l of boiled water from a kettle = 1l of 100° water.
1l of boiled water from a device such as this = 1l of 50°-75° water.

This is the case 100%. The act of pouring water slowly through air cools 100degC water very quickly and into a cold cup cools it again. If you poured a kettle as slow as this and at the same height above the cup you would probably get similar results. Preheating the cup and holding against the spout would help.

  • I had one of these. Looked exactly like this anyway but doesn't
seem to be available in Australia now. It was good while it lasted.
