    • +15

Next time we will have to stand on one leg while patting our head and rubbing our tummy for $1 cash back.

    • It's the Shopback way.

          LOL!

  • +45

Double trouble now. Need to follow up for 2 missing cashbacks.

    • +4

      Hahaha best comment

  • +5

3000 participants, ends 7/3 so you have a few days.

$5 is nice, 2 stores is an inconvenience.

    • +2

Better than that mess 3 transaction thing from 3 category thing they did before…

      • +1

I still got $3 bonus from shop 3 stores pending from July 2020. I did reach out to them but got a boilerplate response.

  • +5

Shopback place very little value on our time.
    How high should we jump?

  • +1

Did 2 transactions one after another, both tracked within 2 hours. Thanks OP.

  • iPhone Pro Max Deals?

  • 10% redeemed already (302/3000)

  • +2

    Nah not worth it

  • +10

I understood none of this. Good luck everyone

  • any Shopback deals, without the App ?

    • +1

Yesterday they had 25% at Groupon and they typically have big deals for bottle shops a couple of times per week.
Today they've got 15% at uniqlo and a few other deals between 4 and 8.
Depending on what you're after, taking advantage of offers with an increased % can be worth a lot more than the odd $1, $2 or $5 through offers like this.

      • they typically have big deals for bottle shops a couple of times per week.

We need it for deals like this :D

  • +5

They need to overhaul their tracking. Bonuses getting tracked and paid at different times, its all too much for my head.

  • With eBay, is it counted as a single transaction if I purchase multiple items from different sellers bit pay at the same time.

  • +5

Next deal will require a doctorate in logic to understand

    • +5

$2 cashback if you complete doctorate within allocated challenge time, but bonus won’t show in account until graduation

    • +4

It's two doctorates costing a minimum of $10 each. Excludes doctorates from some schools. Excludes some but not all doctorates from certain schools. Doesn't include anybody using a scholarship. And if you don't get it in a few months time, you'll have to get all the receipts and go to the head office.

  • +1

    Long reading. Bye

  • +5

I'm as frugal as they come, but this much messing around for $5 is a bit much unless it's something I already had a need to buy. Even then, I'd rather just walk into a shop or go online to buy the same thing for less, at my own time and convenience. These cashbacks are often less than what a typical discount or sale of an item normally go for anyway if you bother to go shopping around online.

The only cashback I did so far was the $60 Amaysim cashback, and that was probably my limit for ROI on something like this. Only got it after 3 months or so…

  • +8

If this trend is going steady, by the end of this year "deals" may look like "$5 Bonus Cashback with Minimum $100 Spend (at 10 different stores) AND Provide a Human Sacrifice".

    • +3

Sacrifice was not a virgin. Blood not tracked.

Please provide a photo of your sacrifice to [email protected] and Debra will get back to you.

  • +3

For a company that recently experienced data breach, they sure do "know" how to set deals to retain users.

  • +4

    Roll a dice.

If you get a 7, you'll get cash back from these guys ;)

    • +1

      T&C

1.) Die used must be a d20 type

  • $10 spend each at 2 different stores to get $5 back. Who at shopback came up with this ridiculous idea? What's next?

    • +1

      The Huckleberry twins from marketing

    • Buy on line and have to pass go to collect $5.

  • -2

Too hard. Honestly why make it hard and time consuming shopback. The system should be super easy, 24/7, for everything you do. All this ridiculous hoop jumping ….

    • Wait, where can I get a good deal on a hoop? lol

    • Too hard to click 'start' and purchase 2 items (above $10) that you normally would?

  • +11

Thanks OP - I have reluctantly added this offer to the Bonus Cashback Master Thread

  • +1

A reminder for Ali shoppers, many items are no longer eligible for cashback (applies to all cashback services). Always check to see if your items are eligible first. if your item isn't eligible for cashback it won't work towards your $5.

Non-affiliated products get 0.50% cashback from ShopBack. Also different categories get different cashback rates like ebay and Amazon.

      • Oh. Thanks for the info. That's changed since I last read the fine print.

    • -1

At least Ali tracks with shopback. Roughly half my transactions don't with cashrewards. Sure I can contact them and they've credited me each time but it's a lot of hassle to go through.

  • -1

Why are so many people whining? If you're shopping online anyways, the bonus is basically free money

If you're only shopping online to take advantage of this 🤷‍♂️

    • +2

You don't get it. A lot of people had tracking issues even with one store, now cashback is only honoured when you shop at two different stores.

      • -4

I do get it. I call BS - the tracking is the same as CR and any other cashback platform

If you think otherwise you either don't understand affiliate marketing, or you are so up yourselves you think shopback is colluding to steal your cashback. Mind you if shopback don't get paid, how are you supposed to.

One exception to this was eBay boxing day and any other minor issues all of which have been resolved afaik.

        • -1

you think shopback is colluding to steal your cashback

Correct, you have nailed our collective suspicions.

The entire process is shrouded in secrecy and lack of accountability

  • here we go again, tracking problems and non-honored cashbacks.

    • +2

I will have to note that even though my previous cashbacks took a while, they did eventually arrive for me. The main issue is their claims process for issues is not nearly as good as cash rewards.

      • mine said will not be honored and nothing they can do! although I had ordered through the app.

        • I think I'm always ultra careful, making sure I have a clean session and not pressing backwards or similar. I my desktop I tend to use a basic browser without add-ons just in case.

        • Since you ordered using the app, the cashback tracked as pending initially, correct?

          • @DoctorCalculon: No it didn’t, didn’t track at all! They said they will investigate but came back saying they can’t honour it.

            • @Sarinella:

No it didn’t, didn’t track at all

Then, all bets are off, and you are at the mercy of ShopBack investigating the sale meta data with the merchant.

What would be worse is if the sale tracks correctly, and the cashback is still rejected within the confirmation period with no reason given by SB. For all you know, SB pockets the cashback. This has happened to too many folks here, and they have the right to be infuriated.

  • +4

Yeah nah not with their horrible tracking x2

  • +2

Yes we are on ozbargain but doesn't mean we would jump off the cliff for 5 bucks. No go for me..

  • Are subscribe n save items eligible from amazon?

  • +1

There's a higher risk with one of two transactions not tracking. Good luck to those who jumped on

    • +1

Depends on the individual. The last 100+ transactions have tracked and paid out, not exactly high risk.

  • +1

@shopback, Why making this cashback more complex… simplity is the key nowadays.

    • +1

I did not participate because of the complexity.
