Mid Autumn I wanna stock up on firewood for my favorite season of the year.
Last year I found that the servo firewood was shit and bunnings firewood was shit. The kindling at bunnings was amazing. So this time I got actual money and wanna goto a real firewood place and get some good quality shit. What does everyone recommend in Sydney/NSW area?
What firewood places in Sydney do people recommend?

I don't mind paying for delivery.
Even a little Corolla hatch, with rear-seats folded down, and a tarp thrown in… that would be good to haul a decent amount. Do x2-x5 trips, and you'll have a nice fire hazard in your backyard. Otherwise, borrow a mates ute/van. Would definitely save you hundred(s) of dollardoos.
Make sure you understand the health effects of burning wood before you commit to a big purchase.
I have.
Lived in Sydney 10 years and barely turned on the heater every winter. Can't imagine when you'd need an actual fire wood heater.
In in Victoria where it is winter for 6 months of the year they are overkill for modern houses with good insulation. Out in remote areas it is a bit different.
I enjoy sitting outside reading a book in front of my fire pit during the colder weather.
just go to the bush and cut down free trees
Isn't it illegal to even suggest someone do it?
Plenty of houses with trees between them and the water will pay you to take them.
I don't know about quality, but I normally go for a drive around the bushier areas of Sydney and there's always someone who has chopped down something large (or weather has brought down a large tree) and they've chopped it up and put it in the front lawn with a "free" sign on it.
Do you have the capacity to go regional and pick it up yourself?
