Love the Vegan Almond Magnums :-)

      Not healthy

..What kind of idiot expects a chocolate covered ice cream to be healthy?

    • +1

not sure why you are being negged, to mimic certain traditional foods / recipes, manufactures substitute other ingredients , and that might result in higher saturated fat ( instead of cream use palm oil) and sometimes higher sugar amounts to create a a palatable product.

ice cream is one of those things, take away the cream ( so it’s no longer ice cream) and you will need to add other things to recreate the cream texture.

      • +2

No you don't. Most of these are coconut cream based, coconut cream is basically the same as heavy cream. There isn't that much difference between the products

        • Magnum ice creams use pea protein rather than coconut cream. Doesn't have the coconut aftertaste, the "cream" part is almost indistinguishable from the real deal. Main difference is dark chocolate outer for the dairy free ones vs milk chocolate for a normal one.

    • +1

I'm surprised you have the numerical skills to even spot the difference

  • The vegan icecreams say 'May contain Milk'. That's not very vegan.

    • I bought Vegan Weis boxes of 36 raspberry and coconut for $16 because I think its cheap not Vegan factor :)
Yeap I know thanks to the Professor in the thread watch out for diabetes :)

    • Soy milk.

      • -4

milk comes from mamals, not to be confused with emulsified soy extract that people market as soy milk.

Words cannot be redefined or adapted to other purposes. Language is static and hasn't changed for 200,000 years. I am very smart.

        • +3

So how do you feel about hand cream?

    • +9

Yes plenty of non-animal products are produced in the same factory as the animal products, hence they're just saying there's an unlikely chance of contamination

    • -1

      It's a cover-ass. Not worth noting.

Of the ones I've tried, these are handsdown the most palatable of the various vegan ranges.

    • I love the almond ones, have you tried the others? should I give them a shot or stick with almond?

      • The almond is nice, but I usually stick to the classic (plain) variety. Yeah, I'm boring, but it's doubly impressive to me that unflavored filling doesn't need something to mask the taste. The caramel variety is ok, so it's worth trying at least once.

im a fat (profanity) so probs gnna buy 4 packs, may as well get one of each :DD

  • -1

the packaging on these are over the top. not very environmental

  • +15

Listen up you dum dums. Vegan means no animal product, that's it. It doesn't mean healthy, it doesn't mean environmentally friendly, it only means no animal product, not that hard to understand

    • yep, people need to read labels to see what is in some of these vegan products if you are concerned about health …. if you are just buying vegan because you are concerned about animal welfare then just accept the ingredients and don’t worry about the health aspect of the product.

i reduce buying things with palm oil as i don’t support clearing of rainforests to grow palm oil, so vegan ice cream, frees the cows and the palm oil in it evicts an orangutan instead.

      • +3

I don't see palm oil in the ingredients list for any of these non-dairy Magnums, so your point is either irrelevant or requires more nuance.

        • -1

look at the amount of saturated fat in the vegan version …. it’s from the palm oil which is high in saturated fat and which is often disguised under the name of vegetable oil.

      • About 2-3000 orangutans killed per year due to irresponsible palm production mostly going into food consumed by nonvegans. Tens of millions of bobby calves and cows killed per year by design in the dairy industry, all for nonvegans. Try harder.

        • being a male farm animal does put you on the short list, like being born a rooster, you only need one rooster between many hens, one bull amongst many cows, etc.

          • @garage sale: That's just for jacking off the prized specimens and taking their cum for inseminating the females. Otherwise they are killed shortly after birth in the egg and dairy industries. But you're apparently ok with all that.

  • Hooray an awesome post thank you OP! :D

  • $13/L hmm, might grab one to see what's all the rave
