I'm not quite sure what you mean - but there isn't any back pocket.
Probably meant some sort of material sewn to the back where you can slip it over the handles of wheeled luggage. So it sits on top of luggage. Maybe.
Do they have bottom padding? My macbook was damaged recently cause I accidentally dropped the bag on concrete:(
Just make one yourself
The bottom of the laptop compartment is suspended above the floor of the bag
The bag needs to be full for that to be effective otherwise the laptop would hit the floor being the only/heaviest object?
Unfortunately, there isn't any bottom padding - I'd suggest either using a simple laptop sleeve, or as another reply suggests, make one yourself.

I had this for awhile and can vouch for the quality and usefulness.
Feel a bit heavier than "regular" backpack. Laptop padding is very rigid and might feel weird if you never use backpack with padding before (like me).
The side bottle pockets are deep can fit my tall bottle easily. It has front mesh pocket for gym clothes, towel, or socks that needs airing.
