I think that you've mistaken this website to OzPoor.. north face is a higher quality jacket compare to its competitor e.g kathmandu, macpac etc. for $108 is definitely a bargain these are usually $300+

Vary bad jacket. Mostly synthetic with small sections of very thin down. Ugly fit too if you ask me. Dad/boomer vest

Pretty much every jacket like this is "mostly synthetic". The only significant natural fibre used in most is the small amount of fill. This has 50/50 fill, which means that if it does get wet you don't lose all insulation. I've yet to see any product like this which is a fashion statement for any age group.
Yeah i don't get North Face's approach to this.
