Hi all,
So I've just bought my first blu-ray player, and want to get a HDMI cable. Now I've seen the recent deals for about $5 or less, but are they any good? I've also seen cables on ebay for about $3.60, but again I have no idea what sort of quality we're talking about. I also don't know what features I should be looking for.

any cable would do. go through Cable Connection as i have before, good cables.
Most hdmi cables are fine, they have reputable sellers on here such as jamell cables for similar price to what you are wanting to pay
Yeah, they either work or they don't. No point spending $20 on some cable just because it looks better. Just make sure it's the right length for you.
I don't think there is any difference in the quality of cables. I use cables bought from eBay (HDMI for the TV, DVI for the monitor) and they work very well. It's digital, not analogue, so all cables transmit exactly the same video/sound.
Only a moronic CUB would pay $50 for a fancy cable from JB Hifi.

Cheers guys, most appreciated. There was no way I was going to pay more than $20-30, Harvey Norman even has one for $349 which I thought was just slightly excessive…
I think I'll go with the $3.60 cable :-)

The second one says it's 26awg, which I think is better, but they seem dodgier. Any advice on the two?
Male to male. Both ends are pointy, you stick them into the two female ends at the TV and the bluray player.
I'll probably go for the first one. They've sold 208 of them.
