FYI:

Carl's Jr is not a burger clone, timeline: 1940 McDonald's, 1941 Carl’s Jr. then way later, 1953 Burger King (our HJ’s).
Carl's Jr burgers are 'chargrilled', unlike HJ's 'flamegrilled'.
The burgers are BETTER at Carl's. Try the Angus burger range and taste for yourself.
I do NOT work or am associated in anyway to Carl's Jr. other than being a fan.

    • fair question.

The onus is on the deal poster to justify why they believe this was worth posting as a bargain…

  • Since when do we have Carl's Jr?

    • we have had it since 17 July 1941, first one in LA

Hi OP, which ones have you been to in Vic? Been to Docklands and Thomastown and both have been flavourless and underwhelming. As far as my pallet goes, I enjoy the odd Whopper/Quarter Pounder, but definitely prefer going to a proper burger shop.

    • Yep Thomastown has been really disappointing the 2 times I have been, all food cold and tasteless

Guess I'm not the only one. Unbelievably inconsistent, probably not going to try them again, last thing I want is food poisoning.

I'm giving this a thumbs down since they need to get their act together.

    • really? interesting, I decided to try out the one in point cook when it opened up and was thouroughly impressed, (for a fast food joint, obviously not as good as a proper burger shop), but I thought it was way better than hungry jacks and mcdonalds and all that. Dunno if it differs between locations or we just have different tastes. And the value is way better at carls I think.

Sounds like it may be worth the trip out west, though I doubt I'll be going out of my way.

@Aequitas did you enjoy so much that you simply couldn't stop talking about every app deal that comes up to your friends, family and broader community?

        • not quite that good, haha, but if im feeling fast food, then it's first on my list, though I prefer the chips from hungry jacks way more.

    • Haven't tried any others, but burgers at Carl's Docklands were quite poor. I would put them way below HJ, Maccas. Probably a notch above Goody's burgers (good riddance and RIP), but not by much.

      or really into Carlos Junior

  • My experience at Carls Jnr Qld was overall good. Enjoyed the burger & chips.
My issue is they made me look like a fool.
First time there and selected something called a Tradie's Deal from the digital POS.
Got to the counter, placed my order only to be told that I can't have it.
The Tradie's Deal is only valid Mon - Fri. I was there on a Sunday.
The advertising was front and centre in the DPOS and on high rotation. Sure enough, in small print at the bottom were the words Mon-Fri only. Who reads the small print though?
So I got to hold up the queue while trying to decide what to order.
I was surprised they were advertising (in prime location on the DPOS) something that wasn't available.

    • yeh I agree their marketing is pretty bad, their naming is pretty weird; making it hard to remember things that I liked. and their menu doesn't have prices on it for some reason???

    • Sounds like your overall experience was good, so all good, right!?
