Variable and random have different meanings

      • -7

So random numbers don't vary ?

        • +6

You are right, random numbers do have a variable pattern. However, preselected/non-random numbers (that are unique) can also have a variable pattern.

Do you use a variable interest rate? Do they just send you a new random number every time they want payment?

It appears random, the payment amount is different each month…

      Random temperatures?

You do know that different varieties of tea should be brewed at specific temperatures, right?

You do know that different varieties of tea should be brewed at specific temperatures, right?

That's just an old wives tale and my wife isn't that old….

  • I know of teas that they recommend 80c - 90c, but what kind of tea would be using 60c water?

It could be a quick way to heat up water to just around what you need to poach an egg.

It's quicker and cheaper to heat water up to the right temp in a kettle and then maintaining the temp on a gas stovetop than it is to heat it up fully on the gas stovetop, at least with the gas prices I've seen.

Gyokuro. Also some coffee brewing methods. The point of not boiling water for tea is also to retain oxygen.

      • Cool I learned a thing today.

Funnily enough one of the brands that showed up from searching (silver foil bags) I've bought tea leaves from before!

    Wow, that colour is awful

    • Explains why the black versoin is double the price.

  • This is some pretty good design, prevents burns and all.

Good lord, it look like something straight from the 1980s.

    • Haha it really does!

I would still have gotten one if it was smart and supported Google but it doesn't, so I won't. Seems a tad expensive to me.

  • If you fall backwards onto this, you may damage your Bodum.

      bo dum tsss

  • Back to $85

  • Whatever gave me the idea that a kettle was used to simply boil water?
