280

Received this email regarding new 30 & 90 day value plans with Catch Connect mobile.
Assume they are permanent new plan types, so not sure if this should be included under 'deals' (Mods please advise/remove as required), but am sharing as they seem like excellent value and data for the price if you don't need international inclusions compared to existing plans on the market.

New Value Plan Options
$9 per 30 days for 4GB data
$15 per 30 days for 18GB data
$29 for 90 days for 20GB data

Unlimited standard Talk + Text within Australia
No international inclusions (add on packs available)
Powered by Optus 4G network
Available to new and recharge customers

Used to be $15 for 3 months :(

      and 60GB too.

    • Kogan still has that deal

      • No Vodafone where i live :(

      • +1

please excuse my questions, what happened if i am on the 90 days? can i just simply top up to get the same pricing?

        • Kogan? No

    • Agree, that was the best, the ongoing Kogan/Catch plan cycling! :)

This deal certainly isn’t as good as the flash deals that come up across the board, but seems decent as far as long running offers go, or as a placeholder between porting for other offers, given only 30 days.

You can’t compare that plan as it required moving back and forth. These plans are insanely cheap for ongoing!

  • Finally Catch realised that $60 for 60 days with 60GB, marketing it as a "$1 per day" is not going to get them any sales.
Sadly, the new $29 plan is giving 20GB for the whole 90 days (not be be confused with 20Gb per 30 days for 3 months).

    • Still good value for sub $10/mth

$15 for 18GB per 30 Days, perfect for me.

    • same - better than the Kogan 365 deal right?

    • Me too; decent data value without being locked in long term, which is handy to swap out month to month if promo flash deals come up in the meantime too

  • Merged from Catch Connect 90 Day SIM Plan 20GB Data, Unlim Talk/Txt $29 @ Catch

Was planning to get this deal for the kid so went browsing Catch Connect website and came across this plan.

Works out to be <$10 for ~6.6GB per month. I personally prefer lump data as oppose to monthly allowance as I can manage my usage better.

    20GB data allowance

Charged per KB. Your data of 20GB will be available from day one.

    Plan Expiry: 90 days

Ongoing recharges are $29 for 20GB every 90 days

Automatic recharges at $29 unless you opt out. AutoRecharge can be turned off in your dashboard after activation. Offer may be withdrawn at any time.

      Kogan 60GB 90 days is $14.90.

      • Although recharge on that plan is $99.90 - you may be able to drop to $46.90 however YMMV

        • Yeah but then on the $46.90 plan you only get 3GB of internet data per month.

Please hand in your Ozbargain membership if you're recharging instead of sim slutting.

@WatchNerd: It would be funny if like what's happened to some other people when the porting back and forth gets totally screwed up. And you lose your phone number. That wouldn't be great.

            • +3

@hollykryten: I've been porting every month for the last 2 years and never lost my number

              • -3

@turk182: Yeah ok. But you're still playing Russian Roulette with it.

                • +1

@hollykryten: Just curious, where have you seen people that have lost their numbers due to this?
I've not seen this happen anywhere here yet so I imagine the chances are less than 1%, not exactly russian roulette. And there are always avenues like the TIO to retrieve your number.

                • @hollykryten: Dodo tried to tell me they had lost my number once. I just said I don't accept that and I'm well aware they have the ability to get it back (and they can do it with or without a fine from the TIO). My number was amazingly 'found' by the end of the day.

            • +1

@hollykryten: I've been porting regularly (albeit not monthly) for well over 8 years now and have had ZERO issues.

          • @WatchNerd: Speaking of which, I assume Belong is still the best to sim slut with Kogan?

            • @wangasm: Just make sure you use a new email address every time you port back to Belong if you want to receive the $20 RAF credits.

    • 20GB won't last 90 days if the kid is streaming Youtube videos?

      • No way in heck will 20GB last 3 months if streaming Youtube. Especially if the kids are constantly watching it. That's not a lot of internet quota these days.

    • Why not the Catch 365-day 120GB @ $120 (even lower if using Unidays code and discounted GCs)?

      • +1

Because a year is an eternity in the prepaid mobile space in Australia and a better deal is essentially guaranteed to emerge during the year you prepaid for upfront.
I wouldn't prepay for more than 90 days unless there is an extremely good value proposition on the table like the Gomo launch offer ($51 for 6 months with at least 18GB every month).

        • +4

I know Scomo got fomo and ported to Gomo from Dodo… I'll see myself out ..

Amaysim suck now with sim deals.

      • +1

        Part of Optus.

      • amaysim have the same deal. My partner got an email for the offer, I didn't. She took it then phoned amaysim and asked about me. I'm on it too now. "Unused data gets saved into your data bank". Today (11th) is the last day of the offer

  • Very good deal if you couldn’t get your hands on the price error $30 for 1 year 120gb.

  • Bought this, port-in my number.

After activation 48 hours, still couldn't connected.

    Customer service is useless.
