        I bought instore as the myer/coles group card can't be purchased online.

  I don't use the CommBank app, I just do my banking via their website, is there a way to activate these rewards via their website and not the app?

    No,

    It's done this way to 'force' people into the app, and they can report more app users.

    Another example is NPP ( instant transfers under $1000 ). These can only be done through the app. They cannot be done on NetBank ( even though many other banks have had it working through their online banking ).
